SYRACUSE, NY A new ad released today by Katko for Congress features Onondaga County Executive Ryan McMahon, and highlights Congressman Katkos work across party lines to deliver for CNY during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
McMahon, who has worked tirelessly to manage the local response to COVID-19, and kept infection rates low in Central New York, praises Congressman Katko for putting politics aside to deliver for Central New York during the crisis. McMahon states, Congressman John Katko put aside all politics. McMahon continues, This virus doesnt choose political parties, and thankfully Congressman Katko has not been choosing parties when it comes to the response. And hes been there for Onondaga County and all of Central New York.

Before that, he served as the borough president of Manhattan for seven years.
Major issues: Stringer is a strong advocate for affordable housing, government transparency, and increasing the minimum wage to $15 per hour. He’s also worked to streamline the bureaucratic process for small businesses and has drawn attention to the negative financial impact that Trump’s immigration policies would have on the city.

Pay Raises For Congress
In 2019, Ocasio-Cortez supported pay raises for Congress. She wrote, “It’s not a fun or politically popular position to take. But consistency is important. ALL workers should get cost of living increases. That’s why minimum wage should be pegged to inflation, too.” Members of Congress make $174,000 annually the Speaker makes $223,500 and House leaders make $193,400. Republican Kevin McCarthy joined her in supporting the pay raise, saying he didn’t want Congress to be a place where only the wealthy can afford to serve. Colleagues such as Joe Cunningham opposed the measure saying, “We didn’t come up here to give ourselves a raise”.

They raise concerns over Dana Balters lack of experience, acceptance of an illegal campaign salary, and support for extreme-left positions like government-run healthcare. They share concern that Balter is too extreme for Joe Biden, and express support for Congressman Katko because of his proven ability to lead.
Local Democrats and elected officials are sounding the alarm on Dana Balter and her far-left agenda, said Tom Haag, Katko for Congress Campaign Manager. With Central New York in the beginning stages of its recovery, even Democrats are concerned Balters lack of experience and extreme positions would set us back. Dana Balter supports raising taxes, bringing Albanys dangerous bail reform law to the federal level, and advocates for a costly radical government takeover of healthcare that Joe Biden calls preposterous. Dana Balter is too extreme, and doesnt have the right experience to lead Central New Yorks recovery.

A Note About Room Numbering
The three primary House office buildingsCannon, Longworth and Rayburnshare a room numbering system for above-ground rooms that might confuse visitors at first. The system is fairly straight forward and can be used to identify most member and committee offices merely by knowing the correct room number regardless of building.
All Cannon above-ground rooms are three digits. As you would expect, the first digit indicates the floor level. For example, 303 Cannon is on the 3rd floor.
All above-ground Longworth rooms are four digits and start with the number 1. The second digit from the left indicates the floor. For example, 1309 is on the third floor of the Longworth building.
All above-ground Rayburn rooms are also four digits, but start with a 2. The second digit indicates the floor number. For example, 2125 is on the first floor of Rayburn.

Meet The New Women In The House Of Representatives
There will be 27 new congresswomen joining the House in 2021, and most of them are Republicans.
The House of Representatives will welcome 27 non-incumbent congresswomen in 2021, bringing the total number of women serving to 118. This breaks the previous record, set in 2018, of 102 women in the House.
Republican women had a particularly strong year. In 2018, only one non-incumbent Republican woman was elected, and 13 Republican women were serving in the House. Of the non-incumbent women elected in 2020, 18 are Republicans and nine are Democrats.
The 117th Congress will also be one of the most diverse in history, breaking records for the number of Black women, the number of Latinas, and the number of Asian or Pacific Islander women in the House.

Stephanie Bice defeated Democratic incumbent Kendra Horn to represent Oklahomas 5th Congressional District. The complete but unofficial results of the race show that Bice, a Republican, received 52 percent of the vote. She ran a conservative campaign focused on addressing immigration, protecting the Second Amendment and supporting anti-abortion policies, as well as improving infrastructure and fighting for affordable health care among other issues.
