Are There Any Quiet Parts Of Lake George Not Too Touristy

I’ve stayed on a few Adirondack lakes, preferring areas that are quiet. Like Cranberry Lake was my fave. But this year I can’t find any places on lakes I’ve stayed in past for my dates. I’m eyeing a few parts of Lake George on the east side, well north of the town. What if any parts of the lake are peaceful? Any advice is appreciated.

Thank you – you mean Huletts Landing is quieter than Raquette? Or a lot quieter than the southern part of Lake George?

For comparison we found Tupper and Cranberry both very pleasant despite some easily avoidable motor boat traffic even at the height of summer. Upper Saranac was also good though slightly busier than the other two.

We like to paddle, but are easily able to handle wind and boat traffic we just dislike the noise and nuisance if theres too much of that.

Thanks again!

Buck Mountain Hiking Trail

This hiking trail up Buck Mountain ends at the summit, which presents an expansive, tranquil view of the surrounding greenery, islands, and villages below as well as the peaks of the Adirondacks. The trail was deemed a perfect introduction to the Adirondacks by Barbara McMartin, who authored 50 Hikes in the Adirondacks, and it provides a moderate hike that stretches 3 miles each way.

The hike has difficult parts, and hikers are cautioned to follow the yellow markers. The trail is open all year round, and hikers can bring their dogs on a leash. Free parking is available at both the Pilot Knob and Hogstown trailheads.

The Best Things To Do In Beautiful Lake George

Perhaps its because I recently binge-watched every season of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and noticed that the real-life resort used as Steiner Resort is for sale , but I cant stop daydreaming about summertime in Upstate New York.

Although Midges impending divorce in Season 2 demoted her to sash girl during the swimsuit competition along Oquaga Lake in the Catskills, vacationers will find the clear, calm waters of beautiful Lake George, about 3 hours northeast in the Adirondacks, equally idyllic.

Covering six million acres, Adirondack Park is roughly three times larger than Yellowstone National Park and essentially the same size as the state of Vermont.

The largest and most easterly of the Adirondack lakes, Lake George is about 200 miles north of the Big Apple and 70 miles north of New Yorks capital city, Albany. Heres where to play, eat, and stay when you visit beautiful Lake George.
