Manhattan At Times Square Hotel
I found some older posts which mentioned it was old and pretty outdated. But reviews are decent, and pics on oyster look good, so was wondering if there have been recent improvements. I found a good price for a Deluxe King for my dates, and it states its an upgraded room > 20th floor.

I couldnt believe the reviews were good so went and had a look and was mighty surprised. NO, the hotel hasnt been updated or upgraded to my knowledge and it was known as a really dirty place. Theyve apparently fixed their employee attitude problem which is a good start but I still wouldnt stay there. There is some mention of poor air conditioning and if youre coming within the next few months, that would be an issue.
I did read the review that mentioned an A/C problem, but it was only one and management responded, so I thought it would be taken care of. But I definitely dont want to stay in a really dirty place,, so will trust your expertise and skip it thanks!

The Manhattan at Times Square Hotel is located smack in the middle of the Midtown West action, which is noisy and congested more often than not, but is about a 10-minute walk from the considerably more crowded and noisy center of Times Square.
The hotel’s block, on 7th Avenue at West 51st Street, consists mainly of office buildings, a McDonald’s, a Starbucks, and a number of less-than-notable diners and bars. For great shopping and high-end dining, guests should check out Columbus Circle, a 10- to 15-minute walk north of the hotel.
Also within walking distance, there are several points of interest. Rockefeller Center, for shopping, ice-skating, and dining, is just five blocks away. Radio City Music Hall is only three blocks away. The MoMA and all its modern-art glory is an easy four-block walk. The theater district and all its Broadway shows are also just a short walk away. Central Park is also about a 15-minute walk north.
Getting anywhere else in the city isn’t a problem. Doormen are on hand to help flag down taxis, and the hotel is close to the majority of the city’s subway lines at the Times Square 42nd Street station . Lines covering the east side of Manhattan run through Grand Central Terminal, a 25-minute walk from the hotel. That station is also accessible via the shuttle subway train from Times Square.
Standard Rooms Are Drab And Worn But Have A Very Comfortable And Clean Bed The Renovated Executive Rooms Are Much Nicer
The standard rooms, at 280 square feet fail to impress but they have all the important basics. The beds have Sealy Posturepedic mattresses and there are work spaces in every room. Other amenities include 37-inch flat-screen TVs, clock radios, coffeemakers, in-room safes, and irons and ironing boards. Bathrooms are clean but dated, with shower/tub combos, hairdryers, and Pure by Gloss toiletries.
The renovated Executive Rooms are much nicer featuring white leather beds, gray walls, and black furniture. Its worth upgrading as the rooms also have 55-inch flat-screen TVs, Nespresso machines, marble walk-in showers, and pre-loaded tablets.

Hilton will debut its first-ever Tempo-branded hotel at the new TSX Broadway at 1568 Broadway in Times Square, Manhattan. L& L Holding Company and Fortress Investment Group, the owners and developers of the TSX Broadway building, also led development of the new hotel.
Formally known as Tempo by Hilton, the hotel is designed by WATG with Mancini Duffy. The property will feature 661 rooms and a small collection of amenity spaces spread across 36 floors of the building. Amenities will include a fitness center and an 11th-floor open-sky lobby with coworking spaces. Additional spaces include a signature restaurant, a bar and lounge, and an outdoor dining terrace overlooking Times Square.
