Susan B Anthony Museum & House

Susan B. Anthony Museum & House is a crucial part of the history of Rochester, New York and womens rights advocacy.

Located in downtown Rochester, these places dedicated to the late civil rights leader are worth a visit to learn about how her actions paved the way for the rights many enjoy today.

The museum building is where Anthony spent most of her years and its also where she was arrested in 1872 after leading several women to vote illegally.

Research materials, memorabilia, and artifacts that detail the story of Anthonys life are meticulously arranged throughout the museum.

Her legacy and struggles are both honored and used as teaching tools for visitors.

Anthony would pass away in this home after performing Failure Is Impossible, one of her most famous speeches.

Aside from being a museum, the Susan B. Anthony Museum & House is also a learning center for the younger community, with multiple programs that are designed to educate and enlighten the youth.

You can also simply opt to tour the home, which has three levels.

Docents lead these hour-long tours and provide you with lots of information.

Before you leave the area, head across the road to the Susan B. Anthony Square Park, which has beautiful flora and the iconic sculpture by Pepsy Kettavong, Lets Have Tea.

By James Barron

Its Friday. Well look at the election in New York City, where early voting begins tomorrow, a prelude to Election Day on Nov. 2.

This is a week for election rituals: the candidates for mayor faced off in a debate on Wednesday, and tomorrow, early voting begins in New York City. Here is a guide to navigating the 11 days between now and Election Day on Nov. 2.

Where can I vote early, and when?

You can early vote on any of nine consecutive days starting tomorrow. Your early voting polling place may be different from your Election Day polling place: Only 106 will be open for early voting, not quite 9 percent of the 1,220 that will be open across the city on Nov. 2.

This poll site locator from the Board of Elections will tell you where you can vote early and when, because the hours for early voting begin earlier some days than others.

The locator also tells you where your Election Day polling place will be, along with enough numbers to call a play at the Meadowlands: your assembly district, your City Council district, your election district and your judicial district, among others.

You dont need to take identification to vote unless you are a first-time voter and did not register in person.

Will there be long lines, as there were last year?

Will there be ranked-choice voting, as in the June primary?

This freshly upgraded museum is without doubt one of the best film and TV museums in the world. • 01 Balthazar

The stylish restaurant serves traditional French cuisine. Outside the menu you can also choose from the seafood bar and the delicacies from the Balthazar Bakery. • 02 Boqueria

One of our highlights is the Boqueria in SoHo. We have walked past it 100 times and have not noticed it at all. Then it was recommended to us during a conversation and what can we say: it is really really good! We had to wait almost 30 minutes until we had two of the coveted seats. Both Tino and I would describe ourselves as Spain connoisseurs, so we were all the more surprised at HOW good the tapas were here. Took us right back to our summer vacations!
