The other TKTS Broadway Cheap Ticket Booth in Manhattan is located in the Financial District on the famous . There are a few differences between this TKTS Booth, and the TKTS in Times Square.
First, the South St. TKTS Booth does not offer same-day matinee tickets. Discount Broadway tickets for matinee Broadway shows at this TKTS Booth are for shows the next day. However, the lines are usually much shorter at the TKTS Broadway Discount Tickets Booth in the Financial District. This TKTS Booth is also cash only!

Go Straight To The Box Office
Obviously, this option only works if youre in New York, but buying Broadway tickets directly at the theater is usually my first choice. I can view the seating chart and see which seats are available in different price ranges for a particular show date and time. Depending on the size of the theater, balcony seats can be some of the best in the house. Ive walked in and scored great balcony seats for just $60 each.
The ticket window salespeople are usually pretty accommodating too, and theyll tell you if its a good seat or a bad seat. I have found that 90% of the time, their opinions align with mine. And, you can take some online coupons to the box office to purchase tickets . The fees at the box office are minimal too. Most prices should include a $2 facility fee, which goes toward the upkeep of these wonderfully old Broadway theaters, but you wont pay any other crazy fees on top of the ticket price. Plus, Im also a little old school, and I like walking out of a theater with my tickets in hand.
Win The Ticket Lottery
In 1995, the producers of “Rent“ developed a model to create interest in their show and to keep a few tickets for the show affordable for fans. A ticket lottery also ends overnight camp outs on New York City streets for General Rush tickets. Ticket prices in the lottery cost $25-$40 for front row orchestra seats. Some shows offer 20 pairs of tickets, while others only do 15 tickets per show. Most of the top 10 shows on Broadway offer a ticket lottery.
Lottery rules vary for different shows. But, generally, lottery tickets are only available the day of the show, and require you to be present to enter. Shows that provide lotteries do it for every performance of a show. If you win a ticket lottery, you are not allowed to enter the same lottery for a year.
To prevent multiple entries, most lotteries require participants provide a government ID to be able to enter. There is no charge to enter the lottery, but tickets can only be purchased with cash, and no bills larger than $20 are accepted.

Lotteries Rush Seats And Sro
Lotteries can be digital or in person, and youll save a ton of money on tickets. Hamilton lottery tickets are only $10! That said, thousands enter the lottery for a show like Hamilton, so the chances of winning are pretty slim. Other shows have better odds.
Rush tickets are sold on the day of the show when the box office opens and on a first come first served basis, so be prepared to get there early for the most popular plays and musicals.
Standing room tickets can cost less than $30 and are sometimes available when the show is sold out.

Face Value Broadway Tickets:
Ticket buyers can purchase face value Broadway tickets directly from the box office at the Broadway theatre. Each theatre only sells tickets to their own show The box office does not charge any additional fees for tickets purchased in person. Face value tickets can also be purchased over the phone from the official ticket source like Telecharge or Ticketmaster, but these organizations will charge a fee of $10 for the convenience, making this method better for people from out of town. Your Broadway tickets can still be picked up at the box office or sent to a mailing address, but the $10 fee/per ticket will still apply. The only way to avoid the fee is to buy the tickets in person at the box office.

Once you have a Broadway discount code in your possession, you can use it in one of the following ways:

You can surf to Ticketmaster.com or Telecharge.com web site and place a ticket order using the same discount code. As with the phone orders, these ticket agencies apply an additional Ticket charge of $8 upwards. For Telecharge orders, you can also use broadwayoffers.com which is Telecharge’s dedicated Broadway ticketing system for discount codes. Ticketmaster does not have a dedicated website and buying a discount ticket is made much harder on their website.
THEATRE BOX OFFICE:
To save on the additional ticket charges that the ticket official agencies impose, you can go to the theatre box office with the discount code – this will save you the Ticketmaster or Telecharge ticket fees, but bear in mind the ticket inventory may have changed since you last checked, so its best to do it soon after looking at the online availability.

To stop ticket brokers buying up the best tickets and reselling for more, Broadway show producers now offer “premium tickets” which are the best seats in the theatre, with a much higher price point than the regular ticket price. The only problem is that sometimes the premium seat goes unsold, which means the box office will have to sell the ticket on the day of the performance for the regular face value, which is significantly less than the premium price. Sometimes the difference can be hundreds of dollars. If they still don’t sell, they may drop the price even further, below face value, which is even more of a bargain for the public , but a loss for the show.
