After pulling off the first road win of the series on Saturday, defeating the Nets 109-103 in Brooklyn, the Celtics are one victory away from ending the Nets’ season.
Jayson Tatum has been undeniable in this series, going for 39 points, six assists, six steals and five rebounds to lead Boston in Game 4.
That stat line put him in great company, joining Michael Jordan and Rick Barry as the only players in NBA history to post a 30-5-5-5 game.
Jayson Tatum went for 39 PTS, 5 REB, 6 AST and 6 STL tonight. He’s the third player to reach these thresholds in a Playoff game , joining Michael Jordan and Rick Barry.
The Celtics’ defense is getting to Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving, keeping both stars in check over the last two games. Durant has been quiet the entire series, only averaging 22.0 points on 36.5 percent shooting from the field. Boston Celtics Vs Brooklyn Nets Predictions
After finishing seventh in the East with a record of 36-36 SU last year, Boston initially sustained that same lethargic pace with another mediocre start to this season, as the Celtics opened with a lackluster 15-20 SU and ATS skid, with ten of those SU losses coming by 10+ PTS.
However, Boston has arguably been the hottest team in basketball since mid-January, considering the Celtics enter Game 4 riding an impressive 39-11 SU and 32-17-1 ATS run, while surrendering just 103.1 DPPG to their opponents during that timeframe.
On the other hand, Brooklyn dominated to open the season despite Kyrie Irvings absence in home matchups, as the Nets kicked things off with an impressive 26-14 SU stretch, while surrendering just 108.6 DPPG to opposing squads across that span.
Brooklyn has been on quite the rollercoaster since trading away James Harden though, considering the Nets enter Mondays contest riding a miserable 19-27 SU skid, which includes a frustrating trio of losses to open this series.
Ill back Brooklyn here, as all three matchups in this series have been decided by slim margins of seven points or less, and while Brooklyn probably doesnt have much of a chance at stringing together four straight victories, I still expect them to steal a win or two and make Boston sweat a little bit down the stretch.
Boston Celtics Vs Brooklyn Nets Betting Odds & Spreads
The Brooklyn Nets are favored to win this game as they will have a home-court advantage. They came close to beating the Boston Celtics in Game 1 and had a 17-point lead in Game 2. A more disciplined performance could help them cut the Celtics’ advantage to one game in this series.

We knew we’d have an advantage on the glass, especially when they go with their small lineups and they’re switching. We can take advantage of that. He had a great night.”

NEW YORK — The stoppers are suffocating the scorers.
And as Boston was finishing another shutdown effort against Kevin Durant and the Nets, a loud Lets Go Celtics! Lets Go Celtics! chant broke out from the many fans in green who had seats in Barclays Center.
There wasnt much for the home fans to cheer about as the Nets face a team that just wont let them get anything going.
More of the same, Celtics coach Ime Udoka said. Were making it tough.
Again making things difficult on Durant and Kyrie Irving, the Celtics put themselves in position to sweep their way into the second round with a victory Monday night in Brooklyn.
The Celtics forced 21 turnovers that led to 37 points. Tatum had six of their 13 steals.
My message is, nobody plays harder than we do, Tatum said.
Durant took only 11 shots, finishing with 16 points, eight rebounds and eight assists. Irving was 6 for 17, missing all seven 3-pointers, and also had 16 points for the Nets, who have to decide if they will give Ben Simmons his debut Monday in an elimination game.
Boston’s defense against the Nets’ firepower was supposed to make this a can’t-miss series, even though it matches a No. 2 seed against a No. 7.
The Celtics got center Robert Williams back after missing nearly a month with torn cartilage in his left knee, making their defense even stronger.

Estnncom: Take The Nets To Cover Vs Celtics In Game 4
It writes: “The Brooklyn Nets are a complete disappointment in this seasons playoffs. After making a strong push in the final couple of weeks of the regular season and a confident win over the Cleveland Cavaliers in the play-in tournament game, the Nets are now with their back against the wall as the Celtics are 3-0 up. Everybody expected Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving to step up but the two super stars are having their worst shooting performances in a while. The Celtics, on the other hand, have Jayson Tatum who is killing the Nets on the offensive floor. However, the Nets are too good of a team and superstars like Durant and Irving will not allow being swept in the first round of the Playoffs.”

The Nets boast of some of the best superstars in the league with the likes of Kyrie Irving, Drummond, Kevin Durant, etc. They have good young players, too, who complement the gameplay of these superstars.
Kyrie and Durant both contributed largely to the final score with 34 points and 25 points, respectively. They even made 23 assists together that saw them see off the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Nets took the lead in the first quarter with a massive margin of 20 points and kept the Cavaliers at bay for most of the game.
This consistency of maintaining the lead in that game earned them a spot in the playoffs, where they will face the Boston Celtics, the 2nd seeded team in the Eastern Conference.
The Brooklyn Nets were initially spurred on to be the leaders in the Eastern Conference, but they fell short as they suffered significant setbacks. Kyries suspension because of the Covid-19 protocols also struck a massive blow to the Brooklyn camp.

Brooklyn Vs Boston Preview
Looking at this playoff series, many people are tipping off the Boston Celtics to snatch the win against Brooklyn. These games may look simple due to their positions on the table, but it is far more complicated than a case of standings.
This fixture is usually a tale of the Nets being the favorites over Boston. This season, the Brooklyn Nets have surprised everyone by starting poorly and losing games at home and away. They were also missing their star players because of injuries and suspensions.
The same cant be said about the Boston Celtics, as they exceeded expectations after a poor start. They have one of the best defenses in the league and are efficient when they attack. They have a significant percentage of outscoring their opponents when they have possession.
Though the stats suggest that the Celtics are the far superior side, they will not have an easy time against the Nets. They ended up in the 7th seed because of the absence of their star players.
Now that the likes of Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant are playing together, they will be on a different level. There is also a good chance of people seeing the much-hyped Ben Simmons making his debut.
