Getting Around Niagara Falls
If youre staying in downtown Niagara Falls, you will be able to walk basically everywhere. This is where many of the top attractions are located and we focus on these in this post. That said, there are some attractions which require renting a car or taking a bus to get to .
If you do have a car and are driving in for the day or want to park near the Falls, there are lots of parking lots very close to Horseshoe Falls. It wont be cheap but itll be convenient!
If you are without a car, Niagara Falls has a bus transit system which you can certainly use but they also have an amazing tourist-specific bus system called the WEGO. WEGO runs three coloured lines with routes that cover: all over downtown to top attractions, along the river north to more attractions , along Lundys Lane , and even an extension shuttle service from April to October into Niagara on the Lake .
The three lines meet around the Table Rock Visitor Centre at Horseshoe Falls. You can learn more about the routes and prices here. Dont forget about Niagara Falls taxis if you want a quick way to get across town to an attraction but dont have a car on hand.
Castellani Art Museum Of Niagara University
The Castellani Art Museum was founded by the Castellani family in 1976 to further the study and appreciation of art at Niagara University and the region. The permanent collection includes more than 5,600 works in a wide range of media that dates from the 1850s to the present.
Examples include paintings, drawings, photos, and sculpture, as well as pre-Columbian ceramics. The bulk of the museum’s collection is focused on artwork created since the 1970s and features prominent and emerging contemporary artists. The museum is located on the Niagara University campus.

This fabulous show is super popular, so I suggest finding a spot early to make sure you have a good view. The fireworks show, which has been going on for over 25 years, is visible from the American and Canadian sides. If youre in the U.S., the best views are from Prospect Point or the Rainbow Bridge, although youll be able to see the fireworks from other places in the park.

This popular Niagara Falls lights festival runs from mid-November through the end of January. The Winter Niagara Falls light show has been running since 1982. And it is now one of the largest winter light shows in Canada. All along the Niagara Parkway and throughout the city of Niagara Falls, Canada you will find a mesmerizing display of over 2 million lights. The Festival of Lights in Niagara Falls is a perfect attraction for kids in Niagara. Its easy to explore, and the early nights of Canadas winters mean that even young children can experience running through the winter light displays before bedtime.
The Niagara Falls Festival of Lights winter festival runs from mid-November to mid-January. Displays take place throughout the city. They include Queen Victoria Park, Dufferin Island, Light displays along Niagara Parkway, Skylon Tower, near Fallsview Casino Resort, along Fallsview Boulevard and Stanley Avenue, and Murray Hill aka Snowflake Hill. If youre not going to travel in your own car, one of your biggest concerns will be how to get around to all the attractions in Niagara Falls, USA.
Fortunately, most of the tourist things to do around Niagara Falls in New York are fairly close to each other. You can walk just about everywhere, although there are shuttles to several attractions. We didnt even have to move our car at all except at the end of our visit when we went to the Canadian side of Niagara Falls.

Enjoy A Legendary Winter Niagara Falls Fireworks Shows
Light and Fireworks shows are famous in Niagara Falls. In addition to the Niagara Falls Winter Festival of Lights, there are over 20 fireworks displays with the stunning Horseshoe Falls as the backdrop. Niagara Falls fireworks displays are done at the Ontario Power Generating facility just off the Niagara Parkway. The winter fireworks in Niagara Falls begins at the same time as the winter Niagara Falls Light Show. The fireworks run every Friday night at 9 pm. The fireworks are 4 minutes long. And from December 23-29, the Ontario Power Generation features the Niagara Falls fireworks shows every night.
