Free Summer Camps In The Bronx

Teen Travel Campchildren Entering 7th

Catholic Charities Continues Free Summer Camp

In this unique and exciting experience, tweens and teens will participate in programs that are fun, challenging, exciting, and educational. Teen Travel Camp will provide memories that will last a lifetime while broadening your childs horizons. Teens attend trips 4 days/week and enjoy 1 day/week at our beautiful campgrounds at HKC. There are also two great extended overnight trips to popular destinations such as Philadelphia, Washington D.C., Boston, Lake George, and Club Getaway Berkshire Mountains, as well as exciting day trips.

Heres what weve done in the past:

  • Mountain Creek Waterpark

At this time, we are unsure about the availability of day & overnight trips due to COVID-19 safety protocols and city and state vaccination requirements for children. We will update this information as more information becomes available.

Your Child Will Love Their Summer

Our summer camp can provide the solution to keep everyone happy. Kids get to attend a fun summer camp that keeps them active and gives them plenty of activities to do while making new friends and connecting with old ones. You get the reassurance of knowing that your kids are learning respect, discipline, and self-control, all of which will help them when they go back to school in the fall.

Rest Easy While Youre At Work

Arranging for child care during the summer break is a challenge. Instead of hiring a full-time babysitter or putting your kids in daycare, try our camp instead.

Here, experienced instructors teach kids what they need to know to excel in our martial art school and in the classroom. Your kids will be well looked after.

Grants & Other Ideas For Affordable Summer Camps

Some summer camp grants are available to New York City kids. Several of my friends have participated in the One Happy Camper program, which offers up to $1,000 off a child’s first year of Jewish sleepaway camp. These grants are not need-based, so anyone can apply.

There are also need-based programs like the venerable Fresh Air Fund, which gives city kids the chance to experience sleepaway camp at no cost the Sports & Arts in Schools Foundation, which runs summer day camps at various public schools and community centers, and Wishbone, a nonprofit that helps promising low-income NYC high school students attend the summer camp or after-school program of their choice.

Another good bet is to contact local Catholic schools, churches, or community centers in your area. Many of them run inexpensive summer camps for kids, and not all require membership.

We also keep a list of FREE summer sports programs for New York City kids if you’re not looking for full-time coverage.

Finally, if your kids have their hearts set on a particular summer camp, inquire about financial aid. Many programs offer assistance to families who qualify.

Summer Camp Means Making New Friends

Mosholu Montefiore Community Center serves as haven for Bronxites

You probably have fond memories of attending summer camp when you were a kid, and you want your children to have them, too.

Our summer camp is the perfect environment for kids to make new friends. They share common experiences in the dojo and they learn the value of respecting people with different backgrounds and experience levels.

My daughter, Sophie has been with them close to 2 years. The instructors are fabulous. They truly care about the students. The summer camp is also a great experience. They are a safe, secure and well runned institution. 2 thumbs up.

This is a very well run school. My children love it and I love the discipline and confidence the class inspires in them. Wonderful instructors who really get to know each child and tailor their coaching accordingly.

Totally professional and knowledgeable about the martial arts and more importantly the keys to success in life.

This is a great school with wonderful instructors! My daughter has been with them for about a total of 3 years and loves it! I love the muscle and the quick fast reflexes she has gained from learning martial arts. I cant wait for her to become a black belt!
