The basic concept is great. But these days, Airbnb is full of professional vacation rentals leased for the sole purpose of putting them on Airbnb and filled with random ugly furniture to make a quick buck by renting them out 365 days a year.

The result: The housing market in major cities has become even more overcrowded and prices have skyrocketed. People are being driven out of popular districts, which then devolve into total tourist traps. That really sucks and we dont want to contribute to this cycle any longer.

We are driving to NYC this weekend and then boarding a cruise ship for a week. Any suggestions on inexpensive places to park the car for the week? We have one in mind – Park Right – but am not sure if they are reputable or not. HELP???

and get a coupon for the week nearest the cruise port, make sure u get at least 3 parking areas, since i have had the one i choose be full when i arrived one time, and was very annoyed at that.

There are some garages that will let you reserve a spot online. When you look at bestparking, look at the west 40’s – west 50’s to be near the pier.

Your other option is to park at the Port Imperial ferry terminal in Weehawken, NJ for $12/day but at least the driver will need to take the ferry back and forth which adds ~$20. But that’s still about half of what you’d pay in Manhattan

Park in the city. After the cruise, you can catch a cab to the garage vs having to drag your luggage to a further location.
