What To Do In New York On Sunday

What To Do In Nyc: Day 2

Time Out New York’s Things To Do This Thanksgiving Weekend

See City HallNew Yorks City Hall is a great piece of historic architecture and has a beautiful little park thats filled with office workers during lunch . To learn about the buildings history, art, and architecture, take one of the tours. This way, youll be able to see the landmarked rotunda, city council chamber, Governors Room, and the City Hall Portrait Collection.

City Hall Park. Pre-reserved tours are typically offered for groups on Mondays and Tuesdays at 10:30am and for individuals on Thursdays at 10am. There are also first-come, first-served tours on Wednesdays at 12pm.

Walk the Brooklyn BridgeRight near City Hall , the Brooklyn Bridge offers an easy 25-minute walk into Brooklyn and the waterfront park on the other side. Stopping to take photos and meandering along the way will make the walk about 40 minutes. You get a lot of wonderful views of downtown as you make your way across . I enjoy doing this walk at night when downtown Manhattan is all lit up. Otherwise, come early to beat the crowds.

Relax in Prospect ParkOnce you get out of Manhattan, you can explore Brooklyns version of Central Park, which spans almost 600 acres. While youre here, dont miss the nearby Brooklyn Museum. Spend the afternoon discovering its vast collection of both historical and contemporary art and artifacts . It has art exhibitions highlighting ancient Egypt, medieval Europe, colonial USA, and more. Tickets to the museum are $16 USD.

Walk Through Little Italy And Soho

Head to Soho and Little Italy on a relaxed walking tour for a dose of authentic New York life. Keep an eye out for celebrities as you stroll past cast-iron buildings in fashionable Soho, and hear stories of immigrants and gangs in Little Italy.

You will visit iconic sights like Spring Street, Mulberry Street, and Columbus Park on this journey through history.

Admire The Spectacular View On Manhattan Over The Hudson

The observation deck of the One World Observatory offers dramatic city views that turn magical at sundown. The visit to this observation deck offers a unique 360-degree view of the city. One World Observatory is also the tallest of the three most famous observation decks, which includes the Top of the Rock and the Empire State Building.

If you plan to visit multiple attractions in the city, compare New York City passes to find the most convenient solution.

The One World Observatory offers the most impressive technological features for its visitors, with a mix of virtual reality, video guides, and theater shows. Thanks to its location in Lower Manhattan near the 9/11 Memorial, the One World Observatory also offers fantastic views of the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, and the harbor.

Because the One World Observatory is the newest, crowds can get a bit larger at this location, but the timed tickets ensure that you will probably never experience an unreasonable crowd size

OK. Admittedly purchasing a tourist discount pass isnt free, in fact, these passes can seem expensive.

However, the all-inclusive tourist passes include most of the citys popular tourist attractions and tours, including hop-on-hop-off bus tours and boat cruises.

The object of these all-inclusive passes is to experience as many things in a day as you have time for. These passes are sold in increments of days, and the longer the pass the less the daily cost is.

So, if you plan efficiently, you will end up getting free access to several tours and attractions.

Giant origami-inspired sculptures now decorate Broadway, bringing a child-like whimsy to the Garment District. The installation, entitled “Hacer: Transformations,” features seven massive paper-like animals: two dark turquoise coyotes, two medium turquoise rabbits, a magenta elephant, a yellow dog and a green bear cub. It’s located on the public plazas of Broadway Boulevard in the Garment District between 36th and 39th Streets and will be there through November 23.
