The Best Way To Get From Boston To Nyc
As someone who travels from Boston to New York bimonthly, Ive been frustrated time and time again at expensive fares, inconvenient time tables, broken-down trains, and flights into airports far from the city center. However, on a recent trip to NYC I tested out LimoLiner, and had my first pleasant experience between the two cities in a long time.
With fares starting at $89 one-way, youre paying more than you would for a budget bus ticket, but less than typical air or train fares. These set fares mean you dont have to wonder if youre getting a good deal or not. Plus, the bus only makes one stop between Boston and New York City and then goes straight to Midtown, unlike budget buses that make stops along the way.

Experience All Of Salem
Salem has much to offer and could easily be an overnight stop or a day trip from Boston.
Of the many tourist attractions related to the Salem witch trials, our favorite is the Salem Witch Memorial to the 20 men and women who were tried and executed. Fans of Nathaniel Hawthorne can also take a walk to see the House of the Seven Gables, the setting for the novel.
The Peabody Essex Museum is also a must-see. Its collection spans widely from maritime artifacts to Asian and African art.
While in Salem, make sure to go to the Punto Urban Art Museum on the other side of town. The area has extensive murals painted by local and internationally famous artists. What Is The Best Way To Go From Nyc To Boston
Hi we are delighted to return to the AWESOME NYC– only our 2nd time, and this time we want to add 5 days in Boston. We just learned our airline does NOT travel from NYC to Boston. I understand it’s only 180 or so miles is it best to take a different airlines or a train? We do not want to drive in NYC. Thank you very much for your help.
Virgin America and Southwest are the only airlines that do not connect NYC with Boston. United has Newark – Boston. US Airways and Delta have shuttles from LaGuardia to Boston. American has frequent service between both LaGuardia and JFK and Boston. Only Virgin America and Southwest do not connect New York and Boston. jetBlue has plenty of service between both Newark and JFK and Boston.
Amtrak is best nonetheless.
Sit on the right hand side heading north for beautiful views.
The BEST way is to TAKE THE TRAIN. Take the REGIONAL not the ACELA because there isn’t enough difference for the PRICE.
To emphasize what was said, as soon as you decide you are doing this, go online an book the train. Amatrack works like an airline. They sell fares in various buckets and if you wait to the last minute the price will be significantly more expensive.
It depends. If you land in NY and want to go immediately to Boston, it is probably easiest to fly and then after your visit there get train from Boston to NY City. If you are going to New York City first then the train makes the most sense.

Limoliner Bus From Boston To Nyc
Note that the LimoLiner ceased operations in December 2019, and is unfortunately no longer an option for travel. We really enjoyed the LimoLiner so we were disappointed when it shut down.
The LimoLiner is a luxury coach bus from Boston to NYC. It makes two stops in the Boston area in the Back Bay of downtown Boston and in Framingham, as well as one-stop in NYC at the Hilton Midtown. This luxury bus line has a restroom on board and provides complimentary meal service, beverages, and snacks .
With complimentary WiFi, power outlets at the seats, live satellite TV and radio, and an on-board attendant, your ride absolutely flies by. It does take a bit longer than the train or flying, but it can definitely be more convenient and more affordable.
Because the LimoLiner bus service has stops at popular locations, you may not even need to take a cab when you arrive. Living West of Boston, its so easy to get to Framingham much easier than driving east into Boston to just end up going west again. The LimoLiner is such a great option for families and they even offer pet-friendly trips at select times.
The LimoLiner is the same as driving, so youll want to be aware of driving conditions and weather. Traffic and road closures will definitely affect your travel time.
Be sure to purchase your bus ticket in advance, and youll get to choose your seat. When traveling with kids, youll want to make sure that you are sitting next to each other.
Train Tickets With Amtrak Guest Rewards Points
Dont want to head to the airport? Taking a train from New Yorks Penn Station to Bostons South Station on Amtrak can be an excellent option for your next journey. Standard train journeys take 4.5 hours between the cities, and the high-speed Acela Express option takes only 4 hours. When you consider time at the airport, this can be an excellent option especially if you live near the train station.
Like airlines, Amtrak has its own loyalty program dubbed Amtrak Guest Rewards. The cost of an award train ticket depends on the cost of a paid ticket, and akin to JetBlue, the more a train ticket costs, the more the award ticket costs. Amtrak points are worth roughly 1.82 cents per point when redeemed on Acela routes and 1.92 when redeemed on standard Amtrak service.
You can earn Amtrak Guest Rewards points by traveling on Amtrak or by using the Amtrak Guest Rewards® World Mastercard® from Bank of America. This card has a varying welcome bonus and earns points on all purchases, including extra points for Amtrak and travel purchases.
