Early Dance Sets And Speeches
Next we had a dance set and I started off this 1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge wedding with classic rock and Motown. Guests quickly filled the dance floor and danced for about 15 minutes until the first course was served.
During the first course we did a first round of toasts and parent dances. I provided a great wireless mic to those who spoke and they stood in the middle of the dance floor. Next, Emily danced with her mom to Fleetwood Mac’s “Everywhere,” a personal favorite of mine. That was followed by Andrew’s dance with his mom.
They had asked me to play two songs for the mother son dance. First, I played about a minute of Sinatra’s “Fly Me to the Moon” and then started “I Wanna Dance with Somebody” by Whitney Houston and asked their guests to join Andrew and his mom on the dance floor over the intro.
Of course they all did and that started off the second dance set. After Whitney, I moved into some more current pop hits and a little indie dance. Guests packed the dance floor for about 30 minutes before the main course.

One of the many fabulous suites that you have to choose from, the Riverhouse is comprised of three gorgeously presented bedrooms, a soaking tub carved from stone, a Keetsa hemp-blend mattress, a stone dining room table for ten, as well as complimentary bicycles.
Truth be told, thats only the tip of the hospitality iceberg which 1 Hotel offers its guests, but those are my favorites. Well, that and all the stunning lighting options during the getting ready this space affords us!
Some couples choose to have their ceremony in the outdoor area at the feet of the Brooklyn Bridge, which is nothing short of remarkable.
You will love the luxurious setting, and your guests will enjoy custom menus created with local and seasonal ingredients served by professional staff who anticipate the days every need.

Jenette And Leandro: A Love Party At Brooklyns Coolest Hotel
Jenette and Leandro met in a cab and it was love at first sight. They never left each others side after that day, and a couple of years later they were tying the knot at Brooklyn newest hot spot, the 1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge.
After getting ready in a very intimate setting with only her sister and mother with her, Jenette met Leandro on the 1 Hotels first floor balcony, overlooking the Brooklyn Bridge and Manhattan. This scenic first look was followed by a fun stroll around Dumbo during which Jenette and Leandro needed very little directing on my part they were so connected, so in tune, that the photos spoke for themselves. We then went back to the 1 Hotel for them to sign the ketubah, walk down the aisle, share a passionate kiss and be officially married. The night ended with lots of dancing and a really fun outfit change for Jenette: she shed her beautiful Delphine Manivet dress for a really cool short evening dress, showcasing her super design heels.
I was really looking forward to shooting my first wedding at the 1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge, because I had heard great things about it. I knew it was an innovative place with the environment in mind, from its recycled water system, to the locally-grown good, to the reclaimed wood used throughout the hotel . The rooms are also beautiful, allowing for some gorgeous detail shots and portraits filled with natural light.

Cocktail Hour And Intros
After the ceremony, guests were led into an adjoining room for cocktail hour. Everyone enjoyed drinks and snacks while I played a custom playlist provided by the couple. Soon it was over and guests headed into the reception room for dinner.
I introduced Emily and Andrew over the start of their first dance song, “Real Love Baby” by Father John Misty. This has been a pretty popular pick in the last two years. I was impressed by their dancing. Either they dance regularly or they practiced a lot.

1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge is a gorgeous hotel at Pier 1 on Brooklyn Bridge Park, just south of the iconic bridge in the Brooklyn Heights neighborhood and minutes from downtown Manhattan.
There are 2 wedding venues at the hotel, and we were in the “Blue Aster,” which has 1 to 3 spaces open to balconies with beautiful Manhattan views. With luxury styling and a focus on sustainability, 1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge is an amazing place to get married.
