The new Amazon series, an anthology of half-hour episodes made up of smaller vignettes, covers the broad range of topics you might encounter in any one issue of the storied magazine, from a chilling documentary on a police shooting of a homeless man in Albuquerque to more whimsical humor pieces starring Alan Cumming or Paul Giamatti, all delivered in a necessarily breezy tone that avoids an air of self-importance. Jon Stewart To Close Out The New Yorker Festival On Sunday October 10th

Stewart joins previously announced participants, including Billie Eilish, Beanie Feldstein, Finneas, Merrick Garland, Thelma Golden, Jane Goodall, Dave Grohl, Charlayne Hunter-Gault, Letitia James and others.
Comedian Jon Stewart will cap off the 2021 New Yorker Festival in a newly announced conversation with the magazines editor, David Remnick, on Sunday, October 10th, at 7:30 P.M. E.T.
During the hour-long discussion, the former host of The Daily Show will reflect on the state of American politics and political comedy, and will discuss The Problem with Jon Stewart, the series that he launched last month, on Apple TV+. The interview, which can be streamed from anywhere, will mark the final event of this years New Yorker Festival, a weeklong celebration of culture and ideas taking place both virtually and in person in New York City.
Stewart joins the below Festival participants, some of todays most talented and influential artists, actors, musicians, comedians, poets, writers, thinkers, and chefs. As the fourth and final installment of a cinematic retelling of Evangelion that began in 2007, Thrice Upon a Time imagines a new legacy for the franchise. The film posits a world that acknowledges depression and the devastation it leaves in its wake, via a beautifully rendered wasteland. But vitally, it also shows a community coming together to rebuild their world and each other with compassion. Thrice Upon a Time isnt a saccharine work that replaces a downer ending with a happy one instead, it acknowledges that while we may never get back what we lose in times of darkness, we can still work toward something better. The cliché of great cinematography is the claim that you can pause a given movie at any point and discover a captivating image. Pierre de Villiers lush photography makes the truism genuine. He captures Lesotho with a reverent, lyrical gaze, with vibrant blues and compositions using a deep depth of field. Villagers occupying varying hills, intimating the deep connections between the people and their surroundings, are the tools of his trade. The Road To Los Angeles And Super Bowl Lvi Begins In Earnest On Saturday
The NFL’s longest regular season is now over and the focus has shifted to the 2022 NFL Playoffs and it began with Super Wild Card Weekend on Saturday as the Cincinnati Bengals won their first playoff game in 31 years, a 26-19 victory over the Las Vegas Raiders. The Bills crushed the Patriots in the nightcap, 47-17.
On Sunday, the Buccaneers took care of the Eagles, 31-15, and the 49ers upset the Cowboys 23-17.
The NFL expanded the 2021 regular-season schedule from 16 games to 17 and the addition of the 17th game pushed back the start of the playoffs one week, which also means the Super Bowl will be later this year .
The 2021 NFL playoffs included six wild card games and the same is true for this year’s playoffs, with a minor exception, last year three of those games were played on Saturday and the remaining three took place on Sunday. This year, there will be two played on Saturday, three on Sunday and one on Monday night.

Six Wild Card matchups to determine which teams will progress to the Divisional Round will be broadcast across multiple TV channels, including CBS, FOX, NBC and ABC, and live streaming services . Fans will want to know where to tune in to watch their team or every team throughout the weekend.
Super Wild Card Weekend features 12 of the 14 playoff eligible teams, with only the No. 1 seeds from each conference earning byes into the divisional round. That means the Green Bay Packers and Tennessee Titans enjoy a week of rest, while the other teams meet for the win-or-go-home at the Wild Card matchups.

Shaka Kings intense historical movie about the activism and government execution of Black Panther chapter leader Fred Hampton is in an odd position due to pandemic-related rules shifts for the 93rd Academy Awards. Released in February 2021, it qualified for the Oscars, and won Best Supporting Actor for Daniel Kaluuya. But it wasnt out in time to be eligible for last years best-of-year awards, so its resurfacing now, after already being recognized by the Academy. Another oddity: It was presented to the Oscars as a film with no lead actor, when it really has two of them: Kaluuya as Hampton, and LaKeith Stanfield as FBI informant Bill ONeal, who infiltrated the Black Panthers to spy on Hamptons movements.

The public bus is also a good option, especially if youre trying to get between the five boroughs. If youre a first-time visitor, its a good idea to get a map of the bus routes!
