New York Times On Kindle

I have the online subscription to the New York Times. Is there a way for me to put it on my kindle

The NYT Kindle subscription is separate from the other digital subscription:

Nope, like pretty much every other newspaper subscription, you need to get a separate Kindle subscription. That kind of sucks. I have the NYT Kindle subscription, which is $20 per month, but it’s really nice and easy to use. I don’t have a WSJ Kindle subscription because it’s too expensive , but I do have a WSJ digital subscription. What I do is go through the WSJ app on my phone and send any articles I’d like to read to my Kindle. It’s not as convenient as having a Kindle subscription, but it’s cheaper. That could be an option if you don’t want to pay $20 per month for NYT Kindle.

Keeping Notes And Highlights From Kindle Books

Q. Can I save and print highlights from books I use with Kindle for PC ? I also read these books on my iPad.

A. Thanks to Amazons e-reader hardware and the apps it makes for other gadgets, its Kindle e-books can be read on numerous devices. The highlights and notes you make in your Kindle books, no matter which screen you have been using, are all synchronized over the Internet and you can see all those annotations online .

On the Your Highlights page, the highlights and notes you have made in all your Kindle books are listed according to the most recently updated. Here, you can also add, edit or delete notes to your books, copy and paste the text, and print the list from your web browser.

Going through Amazons site is perhaps the most direct way to gather highlights and notes you have made on different Kindle apps, but you can also find several third-party browser extensions and other tools for pulling out and printing your notes. Bookcision and Clippings.io are two of the many Kindle-notes converters around the web.

A Clippings.io extension for the Google Chrome browser that imports Kindle notes into the Evernote organizer program is also available for a $3 monthly fee, as is the Kindle to Evernote Chrome extension, which costs $1 a month, for those who do not use Clippings.io. The $5 extension is another tool for Chrome users.

Replacing The Library Card With A Credit Card

Nobody is arguing libraries should get freebies from publishers and authors. In fact, libraries usually pay more than we do for e-books between $40 and $60 per title and as much as $100 for a popular audiobook. And unlike print books, which libraries can lend out to one person at a time again and again, e-books often come with digital locks that make them expire after a certain number of loans or a set period of time.

These terms have caused tension between libraries and publishers. Many librarians worry the price and terms that come with e-books arent sustainable, but most agree providing access is their overriding concern. Some publishers, meanwhile, say easy access to library e-books just a few taps in the Libby app hurts their sales. Libraries counter that theyre a net positive, not only because libraries buy so many books themselves, but also because theyre an effective way to market products to customers who also buy books and audiobooks.

Pollan, a James Beard Award winner who published Caffeine as an audio-only exclusive with Audible Originals in 2019, said he was unaware his book isnt available in libraries. If it were up to me, it would be, Pollan emailed. He added that hes planning to publish a new book and audiobook this summer through a different publisher that will make it available.

I emailed Amazon-published authors Kaling, Koontz, Westheimer, Noah and Weir, but they either declined to comment or didnt respond.

Access The Site Using A Proxy

Are E-Book Subscriptions Worth It? | Molly Wood | The New York Times

The NY Times checks your IP address to see how often youre visiting their site and reading their articles. So, you could use different computers in different locations to read their articles, but thats probably quite a hassle. Instead of physically relocating yourself, simply re-route your web queries using a proxy. There are a number of free proxy websites online, such as HideMyAss.com, which mask your actual IP and make it appear as though you are accessing a site from elsewhere.

Cleaning Out The Kindle Library

  • Read in app

Q.How do you delete Kindle books you have finished on an iPad?

A. When you have completed an e-book and are ready to remove it from your iPad, open the iOS Kindle app and go to your library screen that displays your collection. Tap the Downloaded button at the top of the screen to see only the books stored on the tablet.

When you find the book you want to delete, swipe to the left and tap the red Archive button. For more options, you can instead press your finger on the cover image for a second until a menu appears. Choose Remove From Device to delete the book from the iPad.

Amazon keeps a record of all your content purchases in your online account with the company, which allows you to download and sync the same book across multiple devices running Kindle apps. Removing a book from the iPad does not delete it from your library of purchased books from Amazons cloud servers, and you can download it to the iPad again if you ever want to reread it.

To do that, tap the All button on your Kindle library screen to see all your purchases . Tap the book cover to download it again.

If you want to permanently delete a book from your Kindle collection stored in the Amazon cloud, log into your account on the companys site and go to the Manage Your Content and Devices page. You can get to it by clicking the triangle next to Your Account & Lists on the left side of the Amazon page and selecting Your Content and Devices.

Where Do My Ebooks Show Up

Once you’ve emailed your ebook, go to your Kindle and tap Home > Your Library. It might take a few minutes, but if your Kindle is connected to Wi-Fi , it should update automatically and the ebook will appear.

In the screenshot above, you can see that I emailed myself a random PS5-related PDF. This is the version with “convert” in the subject line without it, the text was indeed very small.

Want to get rid of the ebook? Tap the three dots on the bottom right of your ebook in Your Library and select Remove Download to remove it from your Kindle or Permanently Delete to remove it from your Amazon account.

How To Put Free Ebooks On Your Amazon Kindle

Your Kindle isn’t just restricted to reading books from Amazon. Here’s how to convert various other ebooks formats for the Kindle, and where to get free ebooks.

The Amazon Kindle is a great ebook reader, but it’s tightly tied to Amazon’s ecosystem. If you have a Fire tablet or a smartphone, you can download other e-reading apps to beef up your library, but with the E Ink Kindles you’re pretty much tied to getting your content directly from Amazon.

Well, sort of. Using a bit of free software, you can take ebooks in the EPUB, Mobi, and PDF formats and zap them over to your Kindle lickety-split. Here’s how to do it.

Do You Like The Kindle Home Screen Changes

September 23, 2021 By Michael Kozlowski

Amazon recently published a new firmware update that changes the home screen. They have set the default to showcase the latest books you are reading and it is no longer possible to switch to your library, as the default. On the main home screen there is a larger cover image of the book you are recently reading and two other books, with smaller cover art. Above the bigger image is a shortcut to your library, this is the only easy way to visit it. There also have been some navigational entry changes. If you have a Special Offers edition, it no longer shows Ads on the home screen, just the lock screen.

Amazon has also improved Voiceview access with the new update. Before you had to turn on Bluetooth, then go through the menus to accessibility and then turn on Voiceview. Then you would adjust the volume in that menu. It was a pain. With the new update you only have to turn on the Bluetooth feature and the option to control the volume comes up under the light control bar and a link to turn on Voiceview appears. You turn it on, then tap on the X button and return to the library, then tap on your book and it starts to read.

Are you happy with the new Kindle home screen changes?
