Perched in Midtown, relatively close to the Top Of The Rock, its a great place to see one of the most incredible libraries in all of New York.
Tickets are relatively cheap and you can easily spend an hour wandering around the rooms and learning more all about this grand library. Its stunning.

Intrepid Sea Air & Space Museum
The aircraft carrier USS Intrepid , which served in the Pacific during the Second World War, surviving five kamikaze attacks, was rescued from scrapping in 1978 and in 1982 found a permanent home at Pier 86 off 46th Street.
This is the centrepiece of a museum for US military and maritime history, allowing you to pore over the inner workings of a WWII-era aircraft carrier, but also view a serious collection of other vessels and aircraft.
One of the highlights, the USS Growler is the only American guided missile submarine open to the public, while the BA Concorde at Pier 86 broke the Concordes transatlantic crossing record in 1996. In the Space Shuttle Pavilion you can view the Enterprise, the prototype Space Shuttle orbiter, rolled out in 1976.
Brooklyns 526-acre Prospect Park is a beautiful place to get lost, dotted with historic buildings, little attractions and sports facilities, all on a hilly terminal moraine from the last Ice Age.
Designed by Frederick Law Olmsted and Calvert Vaux, the men behind Central Park, Prospect Park took shape during the 1860s, and has a ceremonious entrance to the north, on the Grand Army Plaza, via the Soldiers and Sailors Arch . New buildings were being added well into the early 20th century.

Why its awesome: The 22-level Flatiron Building, located in Manhattan, dates back to the early 1900s. Designed in a wedge shape it takes its name from the fact that it looks like an old-fashioned clothes iron. Now listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the building features Beaux-Arts designs with elements from Greek and Renaissance architecture. Home to many offices, the inside spaces also have unusual designs, with angular walls and great views towards the Empire State Building.
The signature building has been used in various TV shows and films over the years, including Godzilla, Spider Man, and Friends. Fun fact: the original elevators in the Flatiron Building were powered by water!

Pay Your Respects At The 9/11 Memorial
The 9/11 Memorial is made up of two reflecting pools, each marking the footprints where the Twin Towers once stood, honoring the lives lost during the terrorist attacks on the site in 1993 and 2001. The names of every person who died in those attacks are inscribed onto the edge of the memorial pools. The memorial is always free to visit, and the National September 11 Memorial Museum is free on Tuesdays after 5 p.m. .

Ice Cream At Ample Hills Creamery
There is always room for ice cream. This is my life motto and I stick by it, especially when there are as many ice cream options as there are in New York City.
Before our trip, we got messages from several readers with recommendations for NYC, and one place we kept seeing over and over again was Ample Hills Creamery.
There are a few locations around the city one being conveniently located right next to one of the entrances to the High Line. And let me tell you, it was every bit as delicious as people told us. The Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island
If its your first time in New York, the Statue of Liberty is a must see. You can visit just the Statue of Liberty or you can visit the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island together as a round trip excursion from Manhattan.
At the Statue of Liberty, you can climb the base of the statue or go all of the way to the crown. Both of these options require advance tickets, and they do sell out, so make sure you book your tickets well in advance.
Ellis Island was an immigrant inspection station and approximately 12 million immigrants were processed here between 1905 and 1954.
Liberty Island and Ellis Island are connected by ferry with Battery Park .
The entire visit, from Battery Park to Liberty Island and Ellis Island, and then back to Battery Park, takes about 4 hours.You will take a ferry from Battery Park to Liberty Island. After seeing the Statue of Liberty, catch the next ferry to Ellis Island and tour this island. Then take a ferry back to Battery Park.
