Philadelphia vs New York

Flying from Philadelphia International Airport is one of the fastest ways to reach New York City, but given the time it would take to get to the airport, clear security, check bags, and fly, you are looking at the same amount of time or more when compared to the train.

Keeping that in mind, if you prefer to fly, American Airlines provides the most number of non-stop flights between Philadelphia International Airport and LaGuardia Airport. Oftentimes, the airfares are cheaper than train tickets.

Located a 17-minute drive from the city center, the Philadelphia International Airport can be reached by SEPTA local train. Once you land in Queens, NY, you have a few options to get to the city. While the M60 Bus takes passengers from terminals at LaGuardia to 125th Street in Manhattan with connections to the subway, a quicker way to get to where you need to be is by catching an Uber or Lyft, as the airport is only eight miles from the city center.

Where Is The City Of Philadelphia

Located in the state of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia has more than 1.5 million people and is one of the most populous cities in the US.

When compared to New York, Philly feels like a country town. It can get busy in the center, but in the neighborhoods what prevails is the tranquility and peace.

Considered the cradle of US Independence, led by Benjamin Franklin, the city is full of monuments, museums and representative places of American history.

Born in Boston, Benjamin Franklin was the most distinguished resident of the city with fair tributes in every corner, including Philly where he spent the last days of his life.

This is just a hint of history among many others that Philadelphia reserves during a visit. A unique cultural immersion that is well worth adding to the itinerary.

Any recommended options to get to Philadelphia, bus companies and trains?

Staying at chinatown in New York.

Thanks in advance

I would post this question in the Philly forum.

You might want to ask your first question in the Philly forum.

IMHO the best way to Philly is the Amtrak from Penn Station to 30th St Station on northeast regional – not Acela. But the discounted prices are available only fairly far in advance – minimum 2 weeks but preferably much longer than that.

You will need to take Amtrak train from Penn Station in NY to Philadelphia30th Street Station. From there you will take SEPTA regional train to the Frankford Transportation Center. You can use Google maps to tell you which SEPTA trains to take.

You go to 30th Street Station and take the SEPTA Frankford-Market line. Several ways to get to Philadelphia-Amtrak is the most expensive. You can take NJ Transit from NY Penn Station to Trenton and change to Septa to 30th Street and then get the Frankford-Market Line. You can take Bolt Bus or Megabus to 30th Street Station and get the Frankford-Market line. or you can take Amtrak to 30th Street and change to Septa

As I said on the Philly forum, take Megabus to the first stop in Philly at 6th and Market. Then the Frankford El eastbound from 5th and Market to the final stop.

Thanks a lot for the help

Is there any luggage storage at NY, 34th St b/t 11th Ave and 12th Ave ?

Thanks in advance
