Generally, states criminalize sexual acts such as: indecent exposure, sexual assault, prostitution, solicitation, rape, and statutory rape. An individual may be considered a “sex offender” if he or she is convicted of one of these acts, and may then be added to both state and federal sex offender registries. Most states also have laws prohibiting certain types of consensual sexual activities, although it should be noted that sodomy bans applicable to same-sex partners have been ruled unconstitutional.
In New York, prohibited consensual sexual activity laws include: bans on indecent exposure, public lewdness, disorderly conduct, loitering, prostitution, and patronizing a prostitute. If convicted of a sex offense , the defendant may be compelled to submit to HIV testing at the victimâs request.

An Australian horse heiress is saddled with charges after being accused of having sex with a 14-year-old boy four times in a single day.
Savannah Daisley, 45, faced Waverley Local Court in Sydney on Tuesday on child sex abuse allegations, with Judge Jaqueline Milledge denying her bail over the quite disturbing allegations.
The glamorous mother of two, who is the daughter of famed Aussie horse breeder Ross Daisley, strongly denies the accusations and intends to plead not guilty.
Cops claim an unbridled Daisley molested the minor four times before 5 p.m. on May 20 last year. Its unclear whether the pair were known to each other prior to the alleged acts.
Daisleys defense lawyer cried neigh arguing that the accusations against his socialite client were made in spite, and that it was an oath vs. oath case.
However, prosecutor Daniel Richardson claims evidence, straight from the horses mouth, exists: He said a police officer told him about a recording of a tawdry phone call made by the heiress, in which she allegedly admits to kissing the teen.
Richardson claimed that the recording reveals that Daisley had little recollection of the incident, perhaps due to her being intoxicated at the time.

In a wild, overrun corner of Fort Tryon Park, a secluded area had become a popular destination for those seeking clandestine, casual sex.
The spot became so notorious that it also drew attention from the police: In some years, officers patrolling the park, in Upper Manhattan, would issue public-sex summonses about once a week.
But last year, not a single public-sex summons was handed out.
A similar pattern holds true across New York City. Officers wrote 432 tickets in 2007 for what is referred to as sex in park, according to Police Department data. Last year, through late December, they wrote six.
Not only are summonses down, but fewer New Yorkers are calling 311 to lodge complaints about lewd acts in public. In 2013, there were 483 complaints of lewd acts last year, there were 283, according to the city.
The act considered a violation of park rules that currently carries a $100 fine has to be witnessed by an officer for any action to be taken.
Other former hot spots have also seen less activity.

R Kelly Sentenced To 30 Years In Prison In New York Sex Trafficking Case
CHICAGO — Disgraced R& B singer R. Kelly has been sentenced to 30 years in prison, after he was convicted last year of racketeering and sex trafficking charges in New York.
“Although sex was certainly a weapon that you used, this is not a case about sex. It’s a case about violence, cruelty and control,” U.S. District Judge Ann Donnelly told him as she handed down his sentence.
Kelly also faces five years of supervised release after he completes his prison sentence, and has been fined $100,000.
“Obviously he is devastated 30 years is like a life sentence for him,” defense attorney Jennifer Bonjean said.
Federal prosecutors in New York had asked a judge to sentence Kelly to at least 25 years behind bars, for running a criminal enterprise to sexually exploit young women and children.
“R. Kelly preyed upon children and young women for his own sexual gratification for decades,” U.S. Attorney Breon Peace said.
Kelly’s defense team was seeking the mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years, arguing he had a traumatic childhood “involving severe, prolonged childhood sexual abuse, poverty, and violence.”
Bonjean argued that the government’s understanding of the appropriate sentencing range was flawed.
“There was no enterprise. There was no enterprise. It was one man with allegations by a number of women, which doesn’t make it an enterprise. And that is why he is not guilty of racketeering,” Bonjean told reporters.
“Do you remember that?” she asked.
