East Village Where To Stay In New York For Nightlife
East Village is one of the most vivid and energetic areas in the entire New York and its my recommendation for people interested in nightlife and exploring the best pubs and bars!
The East Village is a pretty unique and special area, as it has an interesting mix of old and new, modern and old-school, which can be seen everywhere from the streets to the buildings and the overall vibe. There are also plenty of rooftop bars and late-night clubs here, so you can rest assured that you can never get bored here, even if you try!
Where To Eat In New York At Christmas
If you are after a neighborhood in Midtown to stay within walking distance to great restaurants that create special menus for Christmas time then Union Square has to be.
You will find so many food options including restaurants like Irvington.
This is an American cuisine restaurant and bar that will fill you up with your favorite traditional Christmas meals when the season comes.
It also has a great bar with unique artisanal cocktails for you to try out.
Another great Christmas eatery is Gotham Bar and Grill. This is a classy restaurant that really knows how to do Christmas.
They go all out on the decoration converting this already beautiful location into a real winter wonderland.
They predominantly serve seafood which though not traditionally Christmas food still hits the spot.
Union Square is also a great option due to the great subway with multiple busy lines including the IRT Lexington Avenue Line, the BMT Broadway Line, and the BMT Canarsie Line.

- Emily Appelbaum

With towering skyscrapers, iconic landmarks and educational museums, NYC is truly a bucket-list-worthy family vacation destination.
But, theres more to the state of New York than the cosmopolitan, cool and constantly evolving city that never sleeps.
From beaches to mountain retreats, the state bursts with blissful and exciting family adventures.
So, the next time youre planning a trip, consider our handpicked best family vacations in New York.
Why Is Times Square One Of The Best Places To Stay In Nyc
Times Square is not our cup of tea but it is extremely convenient and central. Connections to all of Manhattan and Brooklyn are made easy with various subway lines running through or very close to Times Square.
But the main reason to choose a hotel in Times Square is value. Even if you visit NYC at Christmas, you are going to find value in hotels around Times Square.
You can pick up a super cheap room at a decent hotel for excellent value, especially during the latter parts of covid restrictions. These current prices wont last long once everything is back to normal but it is still an easier place to pick up a bargain due to high competition for budget hotels.

Tours That Are Worth The Money
Every tourist attraction and destination in the Big Apple has a tour option. While our family tends to stay away from all-day tours, we do have some short ones that we recommend to families with kids and those with limited time in New York City.
They cover a large area of the city and include stops at places school-age kids find interesting.
Below are two tours our family really enjoyed on previous weekend trips:
Central Park is one of our kids favorite places to visit in NYC. Its relaxing and quiet depending on the time of day you visit we normally go right after breakfast.
They can spend all day around Heckscher Playground if we let them! If you want to see other notable spots around the park or you just want to get a feel for the park itself before spending a day there, we recommend doing a pedicab tour.
Weve done the one hour tour on a previous visit to New York and stopped at Strawberry Fields , Bethesda Fountain , The Dakota and Cherry Hill.
This tour is geared to any superhero movie or comic book fan. This 3 to 3.5 hour tour takes you to over 40 superhero TV show and movie locations around the city.
Our little guy loved being our tour guides assistant and holding Thors hammer to lead the group back to the bus there are 3 stops where you get off the bus for photo ops . He also enjoyed seeing spots that were featured in Marvels The Avengers movies.
