You have probably heard about Manhattans various upscale neighborhoods, and this is certainly the case with the areas South of Houston and the Triangle Below Canal Street, more commonly known as Soho and Tribeca.

Being the financial heart of New York City, its easy to assume that Wall Street is just stockbrokers and traders! That being said, mixing both the area around Wall Street and Tribeca, means youll get to experience one of the best areas of New York during your visit.

Once here, make sure to explore the Federal Hall in all its historic glory. Interestingly, this was actually the place that George Washington was sworn in as the very first president of the United States! It totally gives an insight into the birth of the American nation.

Times Square hotels are plentiful and span the entire travel budget range. This area has the highest concentration of low budget rooms in NYC.

We stayed at AC Hotel for a night, which was great. It has a rooftop bar and affordable room rate.

The Riu Plaza often runs discounted prices but our top pick for Times Square is CitizenM as long as you can get it at a good rate.

Top tip: If youre a photographer and cant afford to stay at Renaissance Times Square, go in to the lounge for a drink and youll get one of the most iconic views over Times Square.
