If you like shows and plays, you can go see a musical on Broadway, starting at $ 65-90 per person.
One of the must-see activities in New York is a helicopter flight, starting at $215 per person. It is impressive and allows you to see the whole city from an extraordinary point of view.

Somehow, in all the TV shows and movies I saw the station featured in growing up, I never managed to catch sight of the stunning turquoise ceilingI saw it for the first time in person, and its now one of my favorite features of the building.
Wander Down Fifth Avenue
Combining transportation with sightseeing is the best way to check out Fifth Avenue: as you make your way further south toward the rest of the days highlights, be sure to slow down long enough to ogle Fifth Avenues famous stores and buildings!
Notable locations that youll pass on this section of Fifth Avenue include the Plaza Hotel, Tiffany & Co., and Bergdorf Goodman. The Saks Fifth Avenue is also just a smidge past St. Patricks Cathedral, so if youre the shopping type, be sure not to miss that stop, either!

Everyone has a different answer to this question. Every day in New York is a good day, that means our answer is this: as long as possible!
In our opinion, you should plan at least five days for a trip to New York though.
Each day more is of course a win, and you also wouldnt get bored after a month in the city.
Because of the long flight times, less than 5 days isnt really worth it. A shorter duration would only make sense if youre planning a longer trip along the east coast.
But even in this scenario, youd still need at least three full days to at least see the most important attractions.

For Lunch Head To Either Murray Hill Or Koreatown
While Chinatown is incredible, there is so much more to New Yorks international food scene than that!
After visiting the Empire State Building, youll be in a great location to hit up either Murray Hill for some of the best Indian food of your life or Koreatown for some truly epic Korean barbeque.
There are literally endless restaurants in these neighborhoods, so we recommend googling to find out which options are near you, have great reviews, and are in your price point. Of course, this is New Yorkrestaurants only get so cheapbut you definitely dont want to accidentally walk into a $$$ place when youre looking to spend $, you know?
Brooklyn Bridge & Dumbo Walking Tour
Take the opportunity to walk across the Brooklyn Bridge and marvel at its distinctive architecture and iconic silhouette. Yes its cheesy, yes its touristy, but it has to be done: Times Square at night is an absolute marvel, and finishing the night off here is a great way to end your first day in New York City, especially since youll likely be right next door after wrapping up at your show of choice.
Be sure to be cautious of your pockets hereits one of the riskiest places for pickpocketing in the citybut other than that, enjoy the lights and the photo ops .
Day 5 In New York: Statue Of Liberty & Brooklyn Bridge
Start your day 5 in New York City with a tour of Statue of Liberty, one of the symbols of New York City. There are different types of ticket to see the Statue of Liberty ranging from grounds only to the crown. See more details from the official cruise company I linked above. Do book your Statue of Liberty tickets way in advance if you want to go up the statue because they tend to sell out months in advance.
Be aware of unauthorized tour operators. One of my friends were approached by these illegal operators offering a tour to the Statue of Liberty for cheaper. Only after purchasing tickets did they realize the tour was driving them to New Jersey to get on a sketchy boat, and they lost a few hours in total.
If you just want to see the Statue of Liberty instead of doing a whole tour then either take the free Staten Island Ferry or go to Governors Island and you will be able to see the Statue of Liberty from the island.

The best way to explore New York is on foot, and most of this itinerary is best explored this way. You will need to use public transportation to get to your daily starting point, and to get back to your room in the evening.
The public transport web in New York is fantastic, with many bus lines and the subway, which is the most efficient way of getting around to which you can add the yellow cabs and Uber. Subway tickets cost $3 USD per ride unless you have a Metro Card, which you top up when needed and on which a ride costs $2.75. The New York CityPass comes with a metro card.
