Book 1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge Starting At $303 Per Night

1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge is another to, ahem, bridge the gap between boutique and luxury.

Where it excels on the latter is top-notch customer service, hygge-inducing rooms , and a design-forward approach observed everywhere from the glass-encased shower to the open lobby dripping in lush greenery.

Reclaimed wood, repurposed materials, living plants, and soothing neutral colors make it feel like your room might double as a woodsy Scandinavian cabin, minus any sort of roughing it. It’s an indulgent stay and one you can feel good about thanks to the earth-friendly mission.

    Booking.com Rating: 8.8 out of 10

Pros: Cool design and sustainable efforts make thoughtful use of the room, and smaller standard offerings still feel roomy. Plus the waterfront location and city views and stunning.

Cons: The bathroom provides little, if any, privacy.

    Midtown And Northern Manhattan

Some of New Yorks most luxurious and historic hotels are located north of Midtown along the edges of Central Park. This is where the majority of the Grande Dame hotels are located, and a stay at one of these is sure to have you yearning for another era when travel was more luxurious and everything seemed to move at a slower pace. There are also a handful of lovely boutique hotels to choose from.

    The Carlyle

This iconic hotel has many claims to fame. Located on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, this Grand Dame is just a few blocks from Central Park and has had a long list of distinguished guests including every United States president since Harry Truman, Princess Di, and the kings and queens of Denmark, Spain, Sweden, and Greece.

Opened in 1930, this luxury hotel has always been a bit of an outlier compared to similar properties, and it kind of feels like it is off in its own wonderful little world. The highlight of any stay at The Carlyle isnt necessarily the lobby or the rooms, although those are pretty spectacular. Its the bars and cafes you can find inside! Bemelmans Bar, with its whimsical murals on the walls depicting the adventures of Madeline, has been featured in movies like Sex and the City and Woody Allen used to play at the Cafe Carlyle.
