Taxi or Uber are definitely the easiest ways into the city from Newark Airport. Both are easy to get just outside arrivals. There is also a train into the city which is great for singles or couples but once youre up to 3 or 4, then taxi or Uber are not too much more expensive and much easier . If you took the train theres first an Airtran rail link to get you from the Newark terminals to the Amtrak Station, then a train to Penn Station, then taxi, subway, or walk to your hotel. You can buy the train tickets in the terminal or at the train station, so if theres a lineup at the terminal machine then keep going and buy them at the station. Trains into the city can often be packed and standing room only especially in the morning and afternoon/early-evening.

NYC is a great place to visit. It is a unique city with so much to do. It is important not to try and do to much and understand the does and don’t of the city. You can find the best and the worst of just about anything. It is important to do your research and talk to a local person to get a better understanding of things to do that are not easy to find.

Things To Do In Midtown South Manhattan
Aside from the obvious Empire State Building observation deck, if you stay in this area you will be surrounded by shopping, dining and rooftop bar options.
Some of Manhattans top rated bagel & coffee shops are between Empire State and Penn Station. NoMad is a cool up-and-coming neighborhood laden with bars and high end restaurants.
The Flatiron Building isnt far and Chelsea is within walking distance. Actually, if you dont mind walking and you have time, you could probably walk around most of Midtown using a hotel here as the perfect centralized staging area.

Long Island City We had a great time exploring this posh middle class estate that is known for its beautiful waterfront parks, upscale high-rise apartments, trendy bars and eateries, and burgeoning arts scene. A good hotel here is the Home2 Suites by Hilton New York Long Island City/ Manhattan View, which offers abundantly spacious rooms with a fully-equipped kitchen. There is even a microwave and full-sized refrigerator! Service is great and the vicinity around the hotel is very safe too. It is conveniently located beside the 39 Avenue Station, and is just a 20-minute subway ride from Times Square. The hotel price is quite reasonable considering its quality.

Amazing Citythat You Have To Visit Once In Your Life
Amazing city,that you have to visit once in your life. Plan longer stay,because its so many things to see and do here. I spent two days in Met Museum only. I recomand you to go to the Park Line and Chelsea Market,you should visit DUMBO and If you have time Hoboken. The best part of NYC is Soho with cast iron buildings. I like everything about this city except you should keep in mind its expencive and easely you can spend 100$ a day.You can eat good food for less money in chain restaurant named Essen. The hotels are pricey also, especialy if you go there in spring time wich is best part of the year to visit.
Midtown South Manhattan Where To Stay In New York City To Be At The Heart Of Everything
Midtown South in Manhattan is about the closest area we could come up to encompass the strip of real estate between Madison Square Park and Bryant Park, sandwiched between 5th and 6th avenues.
This central strip of Midtown South is where you will find NoMad, Koreatown, Empire State Building and Macys department store.
Technically this area could stretch a little further South and West into Chelsea, which we loved walking around but think is more for third, fourth or fifth time visitors to NYC.

Why Avoid Long Island City
There are fewer bars, restaurants, and general things to do in the area as its still up and coming so if you like a lot of things to do within walking distance then constantly getting the train may not suit you. This also wont suit people looking for a high-end experience being a largely residential area.
