Greenwich Village Best Place To Stay In New York City For Nightlife
For history buffs, there are few neighborhoods as evocative as The Village. If you want to stay in an area that has an authentic feel of New York, this is one of the best neighborhoods. The village was once the Bohemian capital of New York and the center for the LGBT, 60s Counterculture, and Beat movements. While that era is long gone, the feel of the neighborhood is not.
Get lost on a side street after side street of gorgeous townhouses and tree-lined blocks. The neighborhood is simultaneously quiet and happening with a great music scene. If you arelooking for where to stay in New York City that has a great history this is it!
Visit Washington Square Park, the Cherry Lane Theater , see a jazz performance at Blue Note or Village Vanguard in the West Village or have a drink at the White Horse Tavern, Chumleys, or the Stonewall Inn.

Empire State Building One Of The Most Amazing Places In New York
- One of New Yorks iconic landmarks
- Once the worlds tallest building
- Featured in many movies, including King Kong
- Excellent city views
Why its awesome: With 102 floors and standing proudly at 443 metres tall, the iconic Empire State Building was the tallest building in the world for some 40 years. Completed in 1931, it took fewer than two years to design, plan, and build the mighty tower. Almost synonymous with the popular 1930s movie King Kong, the tower has appeared in more than 250 films and TV shows since its creation. Its possibly the best place to go in NYC for a view and a bit of vertigo.
It is often said to be one of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World. The Art Deco tower is home to numerous offices as well as indoor and outdoor viewing decks, an observatory, a broadcasting station, exhibitions, gift shops, and restaurants.
What to do there: Marvel at the colossal structure before stepping through the revolving doors to enter the main lobby, where youll find bronze depictions of the crafts used to build the tower. Browse in the shops and maybe pick up some souvenirs, enjoy a tasty meal in one of the iconic buildings restaurants, step back in time at the historical Dare to Dream exhibit, and ride one of the elevators to the 86th floor to soak up spectacular views from the highest outdoor observation deck in all of New York.
If you want an alternative view of the New York skyline then consider a trip to Jersey City.

Equinox Hotels Hudson Yards
When it comes to brand commitment, Equinoxs hotel debut couldnt be more on the money. The high-profile, high-octane gym groups first foray away from pure workout territory has, as yet, done nothing but cement its reputation. Since opening at the Hudson Yards development in New York last summer, the property is doing a stellar job or luring gym members and well-heeled hotel guests alike to the far west of Manhattan, an area not traditionally known for luxury.
Apart from the sleek, simple design, the sweet potato breakfast bowls and access to the propertys exceptional 60,000 square foot gym, there is another benefit to booking a room on the perimeter edge of a city as bustling and built up as New York the views. With vistas out over the Hudson River over to New Jersey, not being surrounded entirely by skyscrapers gives Equinox more than its fair share of New Yorks natural light and a real sense of space apt for a hotel so focused on wellness and recovery.
The gym itself is excellent and the facilities second to none but hotel guests would do well to be aware that there is an occasional brusqueness to the service in this part of the property given it is not for hotel use only and is first and foremost a member-filled gym. But for those looking for a corner of calm in New York where they can check-out feeling better, fitter and more rested than when they checked in, you could do a lot worse than Equinox. Emily Wright

Areas To Avoid In New York City
New York has changed a lot and, in general, its not a dangerous city. Even so, there are areas that are not recommended for staying in New York City, especially if youre going to get back to your hotel at night. Keep in mind that the city is huge, so actually, there arent many areas to not stay in NYC, but its important that you know which ones they are.

Best Cheap Mid Budget And Luxury Hotels In Brooklyn New York City
Brooklyn isnt anywhere near as touristy as Manhattan and just from a quick hotel search that much is apparent. However, despite far fewer options, there are also far fewer people booking the rooms. Less demand means less supply.
Williamsburgs bars and restaurants spill out onto Berry Street and Bedford Avenue. Wythe, Hoxton and William Vale are in close proximity to this area and each other. Hotel Indigo is in a much busier area but well connected.
Further down in Brooklyn, if you can afford it, we think 1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge has to have one of the best views in the city sunset over Brooklyn Bridge, Statue of Liberty and Lower Manhattan every single day from the pool no less!
Here are the best hotels for each budget around Brooklyn :

Long Island City A Good Area To Stay In When Visiting Nyc
Queens is another district to stay in on the outskirts of Manhattan, New York. Queens is a perfect option if you want to get away from the busy island of Manhattan and look for something quieter.
Personally, I think Long Island City is the best area to stay in Queens, since its the closest to Manhattan. MoMA PS1 and other museums, Penthouse 808, an Asian cocktail bar and restaurant with incredible views of the Queensboro Bridge and Manhattan, Long Island City Flea Market, Gantry Plaza State Park, and much more are located here, so you wont have time to get bored.
10. Long Island City , a good area to stay in when visiting NYC

Tips For Booking The Best New York City Hotels
- The best piece of advice we can give for booking a hotel in New York City is to pick one close to a subway station. Having a long walk to the nearest subway station will very quickly become annoying.
- Remember, NYC hotels will typically include a 14.75% tax rate and a US$ 3.50 city tax per night. However, some hotels might try to include a further fee for something such as Resort Tax. Do not book a room with any extra additional fees, other than basic tax and city tax.
- To find all additional fees for a hotel room on Booking.com: Click on a hotel below, click select rooms, click on a room type, scroll down to the Not Included section.
- Hotels will run promotions and discounts at different times of the week, month and year. Always shop around, click on every single hotel in each area to get prices for your travel dates.
- For example, if you visit New York City in Winter, a typical mid-range or even luxury hotel could have huge savings and be well within your budget.
- We use Booking.com for almost all hotel bookings when we travel. If you create an account and sign in to Booking.com, then book 5 hotels within 1 year, you will become a genius member and that activates tons of awesome perks. There are no contracts or ties of any kind when signing up. This is the quickest and easiest way to save money on hotels.
