Programs At Nyu Medical School
Like many of its peers, NYU offers a traditional, four-year MD program. But they also offer:
- Three-year MD program, including residency match
- MD/PhD
- MD/Masters degrees, such as bioethics, management, etc.
Prospective NYU Medical Students also have the unique opportunity to apply to NYU Long Island School of Medicine for their three-year program. This new medical school, known as LISOM, was founded to help graduate more primary care providers to fight the shortage of providers that New York faces. The primary difference between NYU and NYU LISOM is your practice field. LISOMs goal is to graduate as many family medicine and pediatric care doctors as possible. Many prospective students arent interested in family medicine or pediatric care because these fields dont pay as well as specialty fields. So, if youre not interested in being a family medicine or pediatric care doctor, NYU LISOM isnt for you. Youll be specifically asked about this during your interviews, so be sure that family medicine or pediatric care is an interest to you if you plan to apply.

To Complete Your Nyu Application Follow These Instructions:
- A Common Application School Report
- A completed Teacher Evaluation form
For NYU artistic programs that require an audition or portfolio, submit your NYU application one month ahead of the NYU Early Decision November 1st deadline to receive your NYU Early Decision result by December 15th. Submit your NYU application for Regular Decision by January 5th to receive a decision on April 1st.
There is no NYU Early Action program. So, if you choose to apply early, your decision to attend NYU would be binding under the NYU Early Decision policy. Keep this in mind as you select your NYU application deadline.

What Is The Casper Exam For Medical School
New York Medical College requires candidates to complete the CASPer exam to complete their application.
CASPer is an online test that assesses non-cognitive skills and interpersonal characteristics desirable in a medical professional. Its full name is Computer-Based Assessment for Sampling Personal Characteristics.
The test is composed of 12 different sections, each with a video or written scenario and three open-ended questions. The questions are designed to get you thinking about how you would approach and handle different situations.
CASPer evaluates your social intelligence, collaboration skills, ethics, empathy, and situational problem-solving.

When To Apply To New York Medical College
Your AMCAS primary application must be submitted between June 1st and December 15th of the year before enrollment.
After submitting your primary application, New York Medical College will send you an invitation to complete their secondary application. The deadline for the secondary/supplemental application is January 31st.
Interviews take place between September and March. New York Medical College has rolling admission.

Getting Into Nyu Medical School
NYU Medical School
Its tough to get into NYU Medical School. They rank right in between Brown and Washington with a 2.5 percent acceptance rate. Out of 9,243 applications, they interviewed 999 prospective students and admitted 102 incoming students.
NYU LISOM
Out of 4,200 applicants, only 24 students were accepted. This acceptance rate of 1.3 percent is even lower than NYU Medical School, but this is partially due to LISOM being a smaller university. Eventually, class sizes will accommodate 40 students instead of 24 students. The acceptance rate will still remain lower than NYUs, but it will go up a little bit.

If NYU is your childs top college choice and they would be 100 percent committed to attending if accepted, they might consider applying for early decision I or early decision II admissions. The biggest factor in choosing which one to go for is timewill they be able to complete the best possible version of their application before November 1st? If they feel rushed, taking the extra two months to refine their application might be in their favor.

NYU Grossman uses the Multiple Mini Interview format. Come prepared with a specific, non-throwaway question, perhaps something particular to your field or specialty of interest. You might ask if your interviewer has any advice about how best to pursue this specialty at NYU.
NYU LISOM also uses MMIs as well as team-based interview strategies. Asking questions on your interview day here will also be a great way to show that youre engaged with the schools mission, and that you are prepared to be a part manifesting that mission over the next few years, as an early student.
