- The Metropolitan Museum of Art, one of the world’s largest museums with over two million art and antiquity exhibits to enjoy. There’s even an ancient Egyptian temple from the banks of the Nile.
- Ellis Island is a poignant reminder of the USA’s birth. Over 12 million immigrants passed through this gateway into New York City, the first stop on their new adventure. The Immigration Museum brings together personal objects, official documents and photographs along with personal memoirs.
- A Broadway theatre for a popular show such as ‘The Lion King’. This award-winning musical has been running for over two decades and still delights audiences of all ages. ‘Hamilton’ takes the audience back to the beginnings of the United States, telling the story through a mix of history and hip-hop which shouldn’t work but does.
Foods Of New York Food Tour
By this time it was just early afternoon! We had a food tour with Foods of New York scheduled for 1pm. This is a cant miss tour! No matter how many times youve been to the city, Im sure youll learn something from the knowledgeable guide. You get to try many different restaurants over the span of three hours. We went to eight total restaurants and each had an interesting story.
Some of the most memorable were the artichoke pizza from Artichoke Basilles Pizza, a breakfast burrito from Masala Times, and a popsicle from La Newyorkina. Our tour guide, David, ran his own catering company out of Greenwich Village and he was awesome! He knew a bit about everything: the town, the food, and the history of it all.
Be warned, if you do this tour youll be on your feet the whole time except for in one restaurant. Make sure to wear good shoes! In addition to all the food, we saw the filming location of a few movies and walked through Washington Square Park.

Start Your Days Early
As you can tell from this NYC itinerary, your days are jam-packed, so make sure you start every day as early as possible to make the most of your 3 days in New York City.
This can of course be hard if youre planning on hitting up some of the hundreds of awesome bars, clubs and speakeasies that the city is known for. But its worth laying off the expensive drinks if you have a limited time in town.
A Weekend In New York City
Of course there are many things you can do to see more of NYC than we did. Saturday we spent about 1.5 hours figuring out that we wouldnt be able to see the Tenement Museum that day.
Sunday we had a similar issue with the American Gangster Museum. If you are visiting a smaller museum make sure to call ahead or do your research online about museum policies.

We still packed a lot into one weekend so I hope this will inspire you to make the most of your visit! The best way to do this is dont plan on winging it. Figure out the things that you want to see and do and group the ones that are close together.

One Day Trip Near Me: Caumsett State Park Huntington Ny
Located on a peninsula sticking out into the Long Island Sound is Caumsett State Historic Park Preserve, a 1,750 acres estate with miles of trails and paths that wind through forests, meadows, rocky shore and salt marshes. The estate was established by Marshall Field III in 1921 as his home, country club and hunting preserve.
New York State bought it in 1961 and converted it into a Preserve. The preserve offers opportunities for any number of activities, from fishing and hiking to bird watching, nature study or just enjoying being outdoors. There is a pony barn that provides riding and polo lessons, boarding for horses and other equestrian services.
There are more than 200 species of birds in the Park to delight bird watchers. Beautiful historic Manor house built in 1711 for Henry Lloyd and his bride houses the Lloyd Harbor Historical Society which provides interpretation of life during the colonial times.

My suggestion is to sign up for multiple shows to increase your chances. Youll have to keep an eye on your email throughout the afternoon because thats when youll have to claim your lottery tickets if youve won, but you can see some of the worlds most famous shows for less than $40!**
Nyc On Budget: Subway And Shoes
