Brief History Of The Print Collection
The New York Public Librarys Print Collection was founded in 1900, with Samuel Putnam Averys gift of his collection of nearly 18,000 prints, amassed during his life as a successful art dealer and philanthropist. The new print room, New Yorks first and still the citys most accessible, also drew together print-related materials from the collections of the Astor and Lenox Libraries, and the Tilden Foundation, which had merged in 1895 to form New York Citys first public library.
The Avery Collection is especially strong in etchings by Averys late 19th-century French contemporaries, whose art he had helped introduce to American collectors throughout his career. However, the collection also includes British, Dutch, and German prints, as well as significant holdings of prints by a handful of Americans, such as the ex-patriots Mary Cassatt and James McNeill Whistler. There are, in addition, a small number of drawings, selected works by earlier artists, including Francisco Goya, examples of early lithography, and a collection of prints by women artists from the 16th to the 19th centuries.

The accuracy of your colors will depend greatly on the printing process you choose. CMYK is most used for home printing and for printing professional budgets. This process involves placing colored ink in dots until you create the desired color on the page. Almost all home and office printers use CMYK processing, and even professional photographic printers use a similar concept . CMYK processing will give you good, accurate color results at a reasonable price. The second option for vinyl adhesives is Pantone® color. The New York Times, which touts itself as the paper of record, apparently did not consider coverage of the antisemitic hate crimes fit for its pages, not even in its local New York section. Nor did it report on a newly-released report by the Anti-Defamation League showing that antisemitic incidents across the US were at historic highs, and that New York led other states with 336 incidents reported in 2020.
Its not as if The New York Times desists from reporting on hate crimes. During the same period that it ignored hate crimes targeting the Jewish community, it ran at least a dozen articles referencing hate crimes against other minorities.
So why didnt editors find the story about antisemitic hate crime newsworthy? Perhaps they did not find the vandalism of synagogues worth mentioning because the perpetrator was not a white supremacist rendering his crimes therefore less compelling, or at least not supporting their concept of antisemitism as emanating from Nazis, the far-right, and white supremacists. Or perhaps the newspaper was just reverting to its pattern of reporting during the Holocaust, when it deliberately downplayed news about the persecution of Jews by the Nazis .
What is clear is that even as antisemitism rises, you cant count on learning about it from the Times.
