Factors To Think About As You Prepare Your Budget Of A Trip To New York City
Firstly, you must consider when you want to go to New York City. The flights and accommodation rates vary depending on the season. The cheapest season is from January to March. The seasons that attract more tourists are when there are school holidays .
The accommodation is another factor to care about. The place where you will stay, and comfort and services you want. You can start at around $90 a night up to $250-300 or a few thousand dollars for high-end hotels.
The lifestyle you want in New York also matters. You may dont mind about eating sandwiches, going out at night or shopping your budget may be more limited than a couple who wants to dine in restaurants, see a show on Broadway and visit many places.
The 7 factors that seem most important to me are: the flight transportation meals visits, attractions and shows extra expenses .
Why Is Soho Of The Best Places To Stay In Nyc
SoHo is about style and appearance but in a more gritty way than the Champ-Elyses in Paris. Is it pretentious? Maybe a little, but SoHo is better for its swagger.
SoHo has the most local and residential feel in Manhattan among this list of where to stay in New York City.
However, if youre looking for a more authentic NYC stay, you should look at hotels closer to Chelsea and Greenwich Village.
Hotels range from the top end of budget to luxurious but it is a little isolated in the Manhattan landscape. Long walks either direction are required to get to the next touristy area.
Know Where To Stay In New York
New York is famously known for its five boroughs , each with a unique atmosphere and fantastic attractions. While New York does have a top-notch subway system, its a good idea to remain central and find NYC accommodation close to the things youre planning to do!
Most of central Manhattan is laid out well with Fifth Avenue as its equator and the main streets labelled for easy exploration. Midtown Manhattan is one of the best NYC areas to stay in because its nearby to so many NYC haunts and landmarks, as well a sprinkle of iconic New York skyscrapers.
The best place to stay for easy access to bars and eateries is Williamsburg in Brooklyn. This hipster paradise is a New York staple and home to a myriad of coffee shops, bistros and bars. With everything from pub grub to NYCs finest cuisine, Williamsburg is the go-to stop for foodies.
We could go on about all the fantastic areas to stay in, but well finish it off with the unassuming Meatpacking District, the perfect place for anyone interested in high-end wine bars and fashion. With household names lining its cobblestone streets and Chelsea Market nearby, as well as the amazing High Line, this fantastic New York area hits the sweet spot.

Brooklyn Where To Stay In New York City For Return Visitors
Brooklyn is renowned for its diverse residential neighborhoods. The most populated borough of New York City is huge and covers over 3 times the land area of Manhattan Island.
The Dumbo area close to Brooklyn Bridge is extremely touristy but not in a gimmicky way like Times Square. However, the area we recommend you consider staying in Brooklyn is Williamsburg.
If youre looking for hipster, bars spilling out onto streets, artsy, chilled and quite frankly awesome, Williamsburg is the place you should book. You can always get a subway into Manhattan.
The reason we say Brooklyn / Williamsburg is where to stay in New York City for return visitors is because most first timers will stay in Manhattan, explore Brooklyn and Williamsburg, then say Ahh, next time we will stay here.

Cheapest Months To Most Expensive For Nyc For Hotels
In order what would you say is the cheapest months for hotels in NYC to the most expensive months?
I know October is super expensive but not sure if that is the most expensive month and February tends to be cheaper but not sure if the cheapest month.
I haven’t seen actual data by month, but I did find some quarterly data here:
Scott looks pretty accurate. Q1 is cheapest, Q4 is most expensive . Q2 and Q3 are in the middle, with Q2 often a bit more expensive than Q3 . While this information might be helpful, what matters is the price on the day when you are in town, and that can vary a lot depending on short term demand that gets smoothed out in the quarterly averages.
Well, it depends on when in December. The week before Christmas and right after up until New Year’s Eve can be very reasonable.
I have had good prices in mid-November … Around Veterans Day…. After the marathon and before thanksgiving.
-Feb cheap except around Valentine’s day and President’s day
-March prices start creeping up but still relatively cheap
-April moderate except around Easter/Passover and spring break
-May expensive except around Memorial weekend, less so
-June VERY expensive
-July early in the month cheap to moderate…late in the month when UK schools break pricey
-August early in the month pricey when UK schools are out. Late in the month through Labor day bargains to be had, esp. last minute
