Having the top-hatted bellhops at this Beaux Arts brick building open the door to you in the same way they do for high-profile dignitaries is enough to give you a thrill. Find your way to one of its 188 rooms and suites, and you dont know which VIP or celebrity you might pass last time I was there, Daphne Guinness was getting a blow-dry in the salon.
The eye-popping cityscape views from the upper floors evoke sweeping opening scenes from the movies. George Gershwin spent time here in the 1930s, and today Woody Allen is known as a weekly regular, having played the clarinet with Café Carlyles resident jazz band. Although it recently underwent a refurb, Bemelmans Bar is as atmospheric as ever, with murals hand-painted by and named after Ludwig Bemelmans, author of the Madeline childrens books, who painted the bar in return for living here in the 1950s. Room Mate Grace An Elegant Family
It was a lucky day when I stumbled across Room Mate Grace, a reasonably priced but exceptionally rated contemporary boutique hotel located right on the iconic Times Square . On arrival, the staff immediately stood out as being friendly and helpful and the hotel itself is decorated in an eclectic vintage style with striking wallpaper and animal printsthe leopard print pool bar, for example, has to be seen to be believed!
My room at this unique NYC hotel was pretty striking too think a heady fusion of Real Housewives and the Playboy Mansion but comfortable, clean, and quiet ! The staff really add to the great vibe too by always being available, always in good humor and always happy to help, oh and its very family-friendly too!

Staying In New York With A Child
When vacationing in New York as a family with a child, the demands on the district are often quite different than when traveling without offspring. Although, on the one hand, you dont want to take long to be at the essential sights of the city, on the other hand, the normal New York is more in focus, with great breakfast spots, playgrounds and greenery around you.
We had excellent experiences in the West Village, Soho, Chelsea, the Meatpacking District and Murray Hill. In the first 4 neighborhoods, it was charming to have the Hudson River Park with its many piers, playgrounds and sports fields within walking distance and we as parents could enjoy the view of the New York sykline.

Well, New York was so irresistible to us, we actually moved to the city for three months in early 2021 and spent our entire temporary residency relentlessly exploring the city.
That certainly doesnt make us NYC experts, but it means we have a deeper knowledge and understanding of the popular places to stay than most.

Best Cheap Mid Budget And Luxury Hotels In Brooklyn New York City
Brooklyn isnt anywhere near as touristy as Manhattan and just from a quick hotel search that much is apparent. However, despite far fewer options, there are also far fewer people booking the rooms. Less demand means less supply.
Williamsburgs bars and restaurants spill out onto Berry Street and Bedford Avenue. Wythe, Hoxton and William Vale are in close proximity to this area and each other. Hotel Indigo is in a much busier area but well connected.
Further down in Brooklyn, if you can afford it, we think 1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge has to have one of the best views in the city sunset over Brooklyn Bridge, Statue of Liberty and Lower Manhattan every single day from the pool no less!

Cheap Accommodation In New Jersey
New Jersey is another state, but is located right across from Manhattan on the other side of the Hudson River.
Jersey City is right across from Manhattan and especially the hotels right at the water habe a beautiful view of the Manhattan Skyline. However, the hotel prices are not cheaper than in Manhattan, simply because you can get there pretty fast by subway.
If you really want to save money, you should look at the hotels in Newark. They dont offer a view on Manhattan, since Newark is located a little further outside, but a good room costs between 120 and 170 dollars.
You should definitely book a hotel close to the Newark Penn Station. With the red PATH Train Line you will need 22 minutes to the World Trade Center. A one way ticket costs 2,75 dollars .
