“SHORT version: great veterinary clinic Dr. Roberts gives clear and easy-to-understand explanations and is patient with pet owners’ questions all staff members are pleasant and polite. LONG version: I’m a cat person and have been to lots of vets over the years —- Humane Society , ASPCA Animal Hospital , Animal Medical Center/AMC just off FDR Drive, various smaller vets in Westchester County —- and unless you can qualify for free vet care at the Bronx location of the ASPCA , you are, very unfortunately, going to get a bill higher than you would like. Just stepping into a clinic is going to be around $ for an initial exam and initial meds . And if you need multiple visits because your cat or dog is very ill, it really adds up: any clinic, anywhere in NYC. I wish it weren’t that way, but it is.Having said that, you absolutely get your money’s worth at this vet office. I’ve been there multiple times since they opened a few years back doctors and staff have always been good and, as mentioned, Dr. Roberts is excellent top-notch. Lastly, and it’s not a trivial thing when you’ve got scared, sick animals to carry around, the location right at Westchester Square is a plus. Every other vet I’ve been to you have to drive unless you want to walk blocks & blocks with a carrier.
