This is understandable given the high cost of hotel rooms in the city. However, New York City has some of the toughest short-term rental restrictions in the county. Indeed, most short-term rentals are illegal in New York City. Stiff fines have been enacted in an attempt to halt illegal rentals. And Airbnb does not permit hosts to have more than one listing at any single address in New York City .
So Whats The Issue Today
The matter of the fact is, if youâre planning on investing in Airbnb New York, you should realize that itâs not as simple as it may seem. This investment may just simply not be the most viable option for you. At the same time, do realize that thereâs great potential to invest in New York City, but you want to ensure that youâre not breaking the law as you invest. Engelmayers decision didnt go so far as to suggest that New York was primarily targeting private citizens instead of illegal hotels. Instead, the judge claimed the city has not cited any decision suggesting the governmental appropriation of private business records on such a scale, unsupported by individualized suspicion or any tailored justification, qualifies are as reasonable search and seizure. In other words, the city doesnt require other businesses to provide such detailed records, so why should Airbnb?
