CCNYs CNA program includes 130 hours of instruction with 100 hours in the classroom and 30 hours coming from internships. They boast a 98% pass rate and require a high school diploma, GED or High School equivalency degree and the ability to pass a physical exam. As with many programs, there is an added cost above tuition to cover books, the CNA exam, your uniform and CPR training . Class material focuses on the basics of healthcare including anatomy and physiology, basic life support, taking vital signs, and the fundamentals of patient care. Our Advance and Earn Plus program is an HSE program for youth who have been or currently are in Foster Care or have received services through a FAP program or a Juvenile Justice program AND are looking to earn their HSE diploma. For this program, you will need to be verified as having been in foster care by ACS. Students are eligible for an internship or a stipend for attending classes weekly dependent on which class they test in. Youth who are in our Advance and Earn Plus program are also provided a coach and additional support around job readiness and placement. Admission for this program is rolling.

Adult Basic Education & Training Program
- The Adult Basic Education and Training Program provides FREE services to adults who are seeking to improve their English language skills , get a high school diploma , and to those who are displaced because of loss of income . Besides obtaining academic instruction and counseling, students receive college/training information and follow-up.
- ESL classes meet three times per week from 9:30 am to 1:30 pm or from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. There are 5 Levels of ESL classes.
- Pre HSE and HSE classes meet from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm Monday through Thursday.
- The DHP program provides job readiness skills such as: resume writing, interviewing techniques and basic computer classes. Students must meet specific eligibility requirements. Students attend once per week. For more information regarding DHP, please call 718 289-5832/5838
- Integrated English Language and Civics Education provides high-level ESOL instruction with an emphasis on college and career preparation. Classes are available morning, evenings and Saturdays.

New York Cna Exam Details
There are two sections of the exam the clinical skills evaluation and the written examination. The written portion of the exam is 60 multiple choice questions. The time allowed for the exam is 90 minutes. The clinical skills section of the exam is a timed exam. It consists of the demonstration of competency of five clinical skills. Clinical skills include handwashing, indirect care. Additionally, there are three other randomly assigned skills that will be tested. The time allotted for the clinical skills exam is between 31 to 40 minutes.
