Renewal Of The Registry Id Card
The duration of the caregivers registry ID card is based on the duration of the patients certification. Accordingly, a caregivers registry card will expire at the same time as the patients card. After the patient obtains a new certification from the physician and renews his or her registry card, the caregiver can apply for a renewal of his or her card.
Regulations permit a designated caregiver to obtain payment from the patient for the following two expenses only:
The actual amount charged by the dispensary for the approved medical marijuana product purchased for the patient and
Reasonable costs incurred in the transportation and delivery of medical marijuana product to the patient.
Each designated caregiver must also comply with the following requirements:
- Must obtain a registry ID card for each certified patient
- Must provide care to no more than five certified patients
- Must not possess at any one time a cumulative quantity of medical cannabis that exceeds the amount allowed for each certified patient
- Must not possess any form of medical marijuana other than those forms recommended specifically for the use of certified patients
- Must not knowingly share, sell, trade or otherwise deliver medical cannabis to anyone who is not a registered patient
- Must abide by the same reporting requirements as described above for patients, including the obligation to return registry ID cards issued in connection with those patients who no longer have an eligible condition.

Former Arkansas Lawmaker Launches Campaign To Put Marijuana Legalization On The 2022 Ballot
A former Arkansas lawmaker is now heading up a campaign to put marijuana legalization on the states 2022 ballot.
Eddie Armstrong, a Democrat who previously served as minority leader in the state House of Representatives before leaving office in 2019, is chairing the newly formed advocacy group Responsible Growth Arkansas.
His plan is to place a reform initiative on next years ballot that would allow the regulated sale of adult-use cannabis in the state, according to a statement provided to the Arkansas Democrat Gazette.
The measures text has yet to be filed with the secretary of states office, but Armstrong told Marijuana Moment that more specific information will be forthcoming in the next few weeks.

A separate group of activists with Arkansas True Grass is already in the signature gathering process for a 2022 ballot initiative that would create a system of regulated sales for adults 21 and older, allowing them to purchase up to four ounces of cannabis and grow up to 12 plants for personal use.

What Disparities Is This Law Designed To Correct
One 2018 analysis by The New York Times found that Hispanic people across New York City had been arrested on low-level marijuana charges at five times the rates of white people in recent years.
The imbalance was even starker for Black people, who in Manhattan were arrested at 15 times the rate of white people.

State Attorneys General Warn About Marijuana
As Halloween approaches, attorneys general from multiple states across the U.S. are warning parents about illicit marijuana products that resemble popular candies and snacks like Cheetos, Nerds and Oreos, which could confuse kids and lead to accidental intoxication.
