Does The Temporary Registry Id Card Still Work Even After I Receive My Official Registry Id Card
The temporary ID card expires 30 days after the date of issue. The expiration date will be printed on your temporary registry ID card. You should receive your official registry ID card prior to the expiration of the temporary ID card. What About Other States
More than a dozen other states and Washington, D.C., have taken similar steps.
In New Jersey, Gov. Philip D. Murphy signed into law three bills last month that permit and regulate the use of recreational marijuana. It became the most populous state in the Northeast to opt for legalization.
Penalties for underage possession were also eased, with written warnings and referrals to community services instead of harsh fines or criminal punishments.
Legal sales in New Jersey, however, remain at least several months away.
Renewal Of The Registry Id Card
The duration of the caregivers registry ID card is based on the duration of the patients certification. Accordingly, a caregivers registry card will expire at the same time as the patients card. After the patient obtains a new certification from the physician and renews his or her registry card, the caregiver can apply for a renewal of his or her card.
Regulations permit a designated caregiver to obtain payment from the patient for the following two expenses only:
The actual amount charged by the dispensary for the approved medical marijuana product purchased for the patient and
Reasonable costs incurred in the transportation and delivery of medical marijuana product to the patient.
Each designated caregiver must also comply with the following requirements:
- Must obtain a registry ID card for each certified patient
- Must provide care to no more than five certified patients
- Must not possess at any one time a cumulative quantity of medical cannabis that exceeds the amount allowed for each certified patient
- Must not possess any form of medical marijuana other than those forms recommended specifically for the use of certified patients
- Must not knowingly share, sell, trade or otherwise deliver medical cannabis to anyone who is not a registered patient
- Must abide by the same reporting requirements as described above for patients, including the obligation to return registry ID cards issued in connection with those patients who no longer have an eligible condition.

Former Arkansas Lawmaker Launches Campaign To Put Marijuana Legalization On The 2022 Ballot
A former Arkansas lawmaker is now heading up a campaign to put marijuana legalization on the states 2022 ballot.
Eddie Armstrong, a Democrat who previously served as minority leader in the state House of Representatives before leaving office in 2019, is chairing the newly formed advocacy group Responsible Growth Arkansas.
His plan is to place a reform initiative on next years ballot that would allow the regulated sale of adult-use cannabis in the state, according to a statement provided to the Arkansas Democrat Gazette.
The measures text has yet to be filed with the secretary of states office, but Armstrong told Marijuana Moment that more specific information will be forthcoming in the next few weeks.
I look forward to visiting more as things come fully online, he said.
A separate group of activists with Arkansas True Grass is already in the signature gathering process for a 2022 ballot initiative that would create a system of regulated sales for adults 21 and older, allowing them to purchase up to four ounces of cannabis and grow up to 12 plants for personal use.
Regulators with the state Agriculture Department and Alcoholic Beverage Control Division would be responsible for overseeing the program and issuing marijuana business licenses under that groups proposal.

What Disparities Is This Law Designed To Correct
One 2018 analysis by The New York Times found that Hispanic people across New York City had been arrested on low-level marijuana charges at five times the rates of white people in recent years.
The imbalance was even starker for Black people, who in Manhattan were arrested at 15 times the rate of white people.
But surveys have shown that Black and white people use marijuana at similar rates. And in neighborhoods where people called to make complaints about marijuana at similar rates, arrests were almost always made at a higher rate in the area with more Black residents.
Officials hope the new law will help put an end to those disparities.
Millions of dollars in tax revenue from sales will be reinvested each year in communities affected by racially disproportionate policing on drugs. A significant amount would also be steered to fund public education and drug prevention treatment.
A sizable portion of business licenses would be reserved for minority business owners, disabled veterans and distressed farmers, among others.

State Attorneys General Warn About Marijuana
As Halloween approaches, attorneys general from multiple states across the U.S. are warning parents about illicit marijuana products that resemble popular candies and snacks like Cheetos, Nerds and Oreos, which could confuse kids and lead to accidental intoxication.
In an apparently coordinated effort using identical imagery of the products in question, at least four state attorneys general recently issued advisories about edibles that are misleadingly marketed. The officials arent necessarily suggesting that people are intentionally handing out the THC-infused candies to trick-or-treatersa myth that cannabis advocates have long worked to debunkbut it does fit within a theme of messaging that seems to crop up every year around Halloween.
In New York, Attorney General Letitia James cautioned consumers about illicit products resembling common brands, saying these unregulated and deceptive cannabis products will only confuse and harm New Yorkers, which is why they have no place in our state.
James didnt specifically mention Halloween in the press release, but she stressed that its essential that we limit their access to protect our communities and, more specifically, our children.
These products are especially dangerous for our children.
We’ve seen an increase in accidental overdoses among children nationwide, and it’s vital that we do everything we can to protect our children.

This week, marijuana became legal in New York state.
This is a historic day, Gov. Andrew Cuomo tweeted shortly after signing the legalization bill into law on Wednesday.
But is it an instant game-changer?
It may depend on who you are, and what your particular interest in marijuana is.
This part is instant: Possession of up to three ounces by anyone 21 and over became legal immediately on Wednesday.
Almost every other aspect of the 128-page, 7,000-line law will need time to take effect. Some may take months, like the expansion of the existing medical marijuana program. Others, like legal retail sales for recreational use, may take more than a year, or even two. Eventually, there will be things like home delivery and public spaces called social consumption sites.
Ive been waiting for this for a very long time, said Gary Colmey of Rome, an administrator for a Facebook group called Legalize It! CNY. Is it perfect? No. Is about time we got here? Yes!
Heres a look at some of the key pieces of the law, officially called the :
Effective immediately: Possessing a small amount is not a crime
As soon as the ink was dry on Cuomos signature, adults could possess up to 3 ounces of marijuana without fear of arrest or prosecution.
Depending on how much you roll, thats about 50 joints. You can also store up to five pounds at home.

Pros Of Buying Delta 8 Thc Online
According to anecdotal reports from d8 users, this cannabinoid can reduce stress, improve sleep quality, reduce pain, relieve nausea, stimulate appetite, and protect neurons from damage.

The best thing about buying delta 8 THC online is that its legal on a federal level at least theoretically.
Delta 8 THC can be extracted from hemp plants, which calls for extracting CBD first, converting it into delta 9 THC, and then synthesizing delta 8 THC. The end product contains less than 0.3% of delta 9 THC, so its considered legal according to the 2018 Farm Bill.

What Medical Cannabis Treatments Are Used For Digestive Or Gastrointestinal Disorders
The effectiveness of cannabis for addressing symptoms connected to gastrointestinal disorders has been proven successful in several medical studies. Research suggests that cannabis is successful in treating the symptoms of GI disorders in part because it cooperates with the endogenous cannabinoid receptors within the persons digestive tract. This can cause an effective result and can calm spasms, relieve pain, and improve motility. Cannabis has also been shown to have anti-inflammatory characteristics and the relaxant effects of cannabis can be responsible for the relief they provide. Cannabidiol , the second most abundant cannabinoid on Earth, has been shown to lessen hypermotility, swelling, and tissue damage in medical studies of GI diseases. Patients with IBD, Crohns disease, and other painful GI disorders have said that cannabis has eased cramping and helps modulate diarrhea, constipation, and even acid reflux with very minimal side effects. It doesnt take long after entering the St. Regis Mohawk reservation to see a glimpse of the future of marijuana sales in the state of New York.
The reservation a sovereign tribal land in the eyes of the government currently holds the distinction of hosting New Yorks only overt outlets for recreational sales of the drug: nearly a dozen dispensaries offering an array of joints, gummies, edibles and tinctures, which imbue this far-flung, northern-border territory with a shaggy, entrepreneurial energy.
In front of one dispensary, Best Budz, a smiling, neon-green wavy-tube monster welcomes customers to a salesroom housed in a shipping container another, Six Bears, offers 24-hour-a-day sales, complete with a drive-through window and a work-in-progress V.I.P. lounge.
All of which is legal, according to the state, if exceedingly remote: The nearest big city is Montreal, about 70 miles to the northeast, and even visitors from upstate cities like Syracuse face a drive of three hours or more.
But while New York City customers might prefer closer locales in Massachusetts , the proprietors of the reservations new weed dispensaries say they are doing a steady business, capitalizing on delays from state leaders who have been slow to adopt regulations to govern the adult-use sale of the drug. Possession and use of marijuana in limited amounts for recreational use became legal in New York in late March.

The MMP is the portal through which New York patients register for identification cards and are granted access to cannabis from approved dispensaries.
To register, patients must first contact a practitioner registered with the Department of Health and be certified with a qualifying condition. Patients must be New York residents or temporarily residing in the state for medical treatment.
Once certified, patients create an account online. Once approved, they receive a temporary registry identification card, which may be used in conjunction with a government-issued photo ID to purchase approved medical marijuana products until the permanent registry ID card arrives. Registrations expire when the certification issued by the practitioner expires based on the prescription. Patients and caregivers must re-register each time a new certification number is issued.
The state charges a $50 application fee for patients and caregivers, but the fee may be waived or reduced for financial hardship.
The list of health professionals who can certify patients includes nurse practitioners and physician assistants. Practitioners are required to complete a Department of Health-approved education course, create an account, and register with the Health Commerce System.

Adult-use cannabis sales won’t begin anytime soon.
Andrew Carter, an analyst at Stifel, said he expects recreational cannabis sales to begin in late 2022. Norman Birenbaum, New York’s director of cannabis programs, told Insider in February that he expects a program to be rolled out in 12-18 months, based on timelines in other states that have legalized.
That means if you want to purchase cannabis products at a licensed retailer, you’ll likely have to wait until summer or fall of next year.
Birenbaum said he expects it will take three to four years to create a market with the cultivation capacity and dispensary numbers to meet the demands of consumers.
