For all vehicles that are purchased for $500 or less, the seller MUST fill out section 6 of the DTF 802 for your bill of sale. This includes cars, trucks, motorcycles, boats, snowmobiles and heavy weight trailers. There are no exceptions to this rule. Please see a Supervisor if you have any questions.

There are a few cases when you are not allowed to get a replacement vehicle registration online. Here are the vehicle restrictions:

• Trailers and transporters.

I Thought My Inspection Registration Were Extended What Happened

Cuomo first issued an executive order in late March extending the expiration date of vehicle registrations and inspections that were valid as of March 27.

That order was extended several times until it expired Nov. 3. But Cuomo signed a subsequent order preventing police from ticketing drivers for an expired inspection or registration until Dec. 1.

Now, police are once again able to enforce the law once again. That means if your registration or inspection has lapsed, you can once again be ticketed for it.
