Portland Trail Blazers : The Blazers went 1-7 without Damian Lillard in December to fall from first to eighth in the West. Now Lillard is back, but theyve continued to slide right out of play-in position.
Minnesota Timberwolves : Anthony Edwards is back in shape and carrying Minnesotas offense while Rudy Gobert holds down an above average defense. Their playoff chances will depend on how Karl-Anthony Towns fits into that new ecosystem when he returns.
Houston Rockets : The Rockets are almost certainly the worst team in the Western Conference.

Boston still has three games remaining with Philadelphia, which is a half-game ahead of the Nets, yet is +1400 to win the division, while the Nets are +850. Brooklyn ranks 19th in the NBA in rebounds allowed, surrendering 43.8 rebounds per game. And with Kevin Durant out, the Nets offense figures to miss more shots to produce more opportunities for Ayton to grab rebounds. Deandre Ayton Over 105 Rebounds
Injuries have stolen the sexiness from this would-be marquee matchup, but theres still one excellent betting angle. The Suns will be without at least Devin Booker, Cam Payne, and possibly Chris Paul, who is questionable with a hip injury. That leaves Ayton, Mikal Bridges, and Cam Johnson, who is returning from an injury of his own, to carry the load.
If he comes to play , Ayton should thrive on the boards against one of the worst rebounding teams in the NBA. Brooklyns 47.8 percent rebounding rate is better than only the Dallas Mavericks and their notoriously small lineup.

Ayton has also seen a slight uptick in playing time since injuries have hit Phoenixs rotation. Hes averaging a season-high 32.1 minutes per game in January compared to just 28.9 in December.

The Nets announced Wednesday they were hiring interim head coach Jacque Vaughn to be their head coach despite rumors linking them to suspended Boston Celtics coach Ime Udoka. The Nets were 2-2 since Vaughn took over but their odds to win he championship have continued to fall.
Brooklyn began the season at +700 to win the championship but moved to +850 after the Nash firing. They now sit at +1200 to win the title .
