NYC Restaurant Week Returning

Restaurants can choose which meal periods, lunch and dinner, from Monday through Friday that they wish to offer the special deals during the five-week culinary celebration. Sunday participation is optional and Saturdays are excluded from the program. Restaurants will offer onsite dining and in some cases takeout and delivery will be available.

In order to see when a restaurant is participating and which deals are available, you will need to check their website. A full list of participating restaurants can be found at the New York City Restaurant Week official site where you can make a reservation and see opening hours as well. NYC Restaurant Week is a bi-annual event that takes place every summer and winter since 1982. Back then only a few restaurants participated in the promotion, whereas this years event counts over 400 participating restaurants. Over time, the length of the promotion has been extended, so that now we can enjoy almost a full month of great, affordable food instead of just one week.

LONG ISLAND, NY Foodies, rejoice: Long Island Restaurant Week returns Sunday, Jan. 23.

During the event, which ends the following Sunday, participating restaurants will offer a three-course prix fixe for $25, $35, or $42. A two-course lunch for $20 is also available at some restaurants.

When Does It Take Place

Restaurant Week takes place twice a year. In winter it is held from late January to early February and in summer it takes place from late July to early August.

The name is misleading in that Restaurant Week lasts for almost three weeks so you have more time to take advantage of this event.

Restaurant Week In Nyc: Staten Island Eats Are Represented In The Program

Lorenzo’s prix fixe menu for Restaurant Week includes a choice of apps, entrees and a bomboloni plus a glass of wine as an optional beverage.

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. Restaurant Week kicks off this month on Jan. 18 to promote the New York City hospitality industry.

At the moment, Lorenzos Restaurant, Bar and Cabaret at the Hilton Garden Inn in Bloomfield is the only participating venue for the borough.

Restaurant Week runs from Jan. 18 to Feb. 13, Monday through Friday.

We love participating in Restaurant Week because the special menu and pricing often attracts new guests to try Lorenzos and we have a large, spacious dining room with an 1893 Steinway piano, delicious food, a fully vaccinated staff, said Lois and Richard Nicotra, owners of the Hiltons resident, linen cloth eatery. They pointed out upgrades in ventilation with the addition of the Atmos Air Purification system.

The Nicotras said, Sometimes people who havent dined here yet think a restaurant in a hotel doesnt have the greatest food. Well, we have a fabulous restaurant and it just happens to be located in a hotel. We have great short ribs, and they are on the menu.

How Does It Work

Restaurant Week is a twice-yearly event when more than 300 of New York City’s best restaurants offer a prix-fixe menu at a very low price, relative to their regular prices.

In Winter 2022, lunch or dinner costs $29, $39, or $59, depending on the meal and restaurant. Prices are per person, not including beverages, tax, and tip.

If you dined at some of these restaurants at other times of the year, your entree alone might cost you as much as what you will pay for your entire meal during Restaurant Week.

To take advantage of this delicious money-saving opportunity, you will need to make a reservation at one of the participating restaurants.

What Are The Prices For Summer 2021 Nyc Restaurant Week

Diners will have a choice of three lunch and dinner options this year to enjoy dining indoors, outdoors or at home during the culinary holiday. The 530 participating restaurantscan choose to offer an entrée and a side for $21 or $39. In addition to the basic meal choices, this year there will be Signature Dining Experiences for $125 which will include three or more courses. Eateries that provide the top tier option are also encouraged to include some perk with the meal such as wine or meeting the chef, among other “enhancements”.

Those who are new to the NYC Restaurant Week should be forewarned that whichever tier they choose that drinks, tax and tip are not included.

  • The three-course, prix-fixe meals for $29 and $42 do not include beverages, tip or tax.
  • Most restaurants do not participate during the weekends, so dont expect a Saturday night prime time table during RW.
  • Review the menu in advance, as there are fewer choices on the RW menu than normal. If you have eating restrictions, you may be limited.
  • Monday to Wednesday reservations tend to be easier to get than those for Thursday and Friday.
  • When making a reservation, be sure to mention you are booking for Restaurant Week.
  • When being seated, ask for the Restaurant Week menu if it is not offered.
  • Tip the server based on the usual price of the meal, not the Restaurant Week price, especially if youve had good service. Remember, the server is doing their job exactly as they normally do when meals are full priced.
