Swimmers who are absent from two consecutive classes will be dropped.

How Much Are Swimming Lessons For Babies

Swimming lessons for babies and young toddlers will vary in price depending on where you live, whether you pay a monthly or a drop-in rate, how long the lesson is, and whether it is group instruction or a private lesson. Many swim schools start providing lessons to babies starting at six months of age and older, although there are some locations that have infant classes for two- to five-month-olds. Swimming lessons for babies are typically less expensive than swimming lessons for adults. Learning to swim takes practice and repeat exposure, so many schools offer monthly tuition, which allows your child to attend at least one group class per week. Higher tuition can be paid for unlimited monthly group classes. An average price range for monthly group swimming lessons for babies may be between $50 and $95, depending on rates in your region and how often your child attends. Average drop-in fees for infant group swimming lessons can range between $15 and $25, depending on the school. Average drop-in fees for private instruction may range between $30 and $60. Average monthly tuition for private instruction could range from $150 to $250 or more, depending on the swimming school. Most swimming lessons for young children and infants are 30 minutes long.

Are Private Swim Classes The Best Fit For My Child

Many parents wonder whether private swim lessons or group swim classes will be best for their child. While every young swimmer is different, certain kids do tend to benefit from one-one-on instruction. If youre wondering which type of class would be the best fit for your kiddos needs and goals, we encourage you to contact our team via phone or email.

Parent & Child Swim Classes

Stage 1: Water Babies P/C 6-18 mos. Using songs, games, and play children learn water-based motor skills such as kicking, arm movements, floating, and blowing bubbles. All activities are designed to make babies more comfortable in the water.

Stage 2: Water Tots P/C 18-24 mos. Swim skills, such as breath control, proper kicking and arm movement, jumping into and climbing out the pool are taught. At this age, repetition is key in learning. Focusing on a few skills per class and repeating them in a fun way is the best way for Tots to learn.

Stage 3: Advanced Water Tots P/C 24-36 mos. For toddlers who are comfortable in the water, this parent/child class begins to transition children to unassisted swimming. Essential skills such as kicking, arm movement, breath control, and floating on both the stomach and back. Swimmers must be comfortable with putting their face in the water to be in this class.

A swim evaluation is not necessary for the above levels.

At What Age Should You Start Swim Lessons

From 6 months to 96 years old, no one is too young or too old to benefit from swimming lessons. Once your baby is six months old, they are eligible to take parent and me swimming lessons from most swim schools. When babies are between six months and several years, you or another guardian must be with the baby throughout the entire lesson for safety reasons. Even if babies cant walk, they quickly adapt to moving in water, so familiarizing them early means more fun for everyone and keeps them from being afraid of water later on. It also helps with water safety and drowning prevention. As for adults and seniors, its never too late to start swimming. Knowing how to swim can not only save your life, it provides an impact-free way to safely exercise and keep muscles and joints limber. Swimming can even help relieve pain from chronic diseases like rheumatoid arthritis, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Most swimming schools offer group or private instruction, so if youre shy about learning a new skill, you can do so one-on-one.

About Our Private Swim Lesson Program

Wondering how long it takes to learn to swim independently? We find on average it takes our students about 10-12 swimming lessons to learn the basic water safety and lifesaving skills.

We suggest taking private at home swim lessons a minimum of 2x a week. We put a big focus on learning how to swim FAST!

Our main focus is to teach our students life saving skills and water safety in Bronx, NY.

Specifically back floating and building arm and kick strength so that our students can successfully swim to the side of the pool for safety in an emergency situation, or float on their back independently.

Our goal is to teach our students the necessary skills to save themselves if they were to ever fall into the pool on their own.

Once the basic water safety and life saving skills are accomplished, we move onto stroke development. We focus on the lifesaving skills first as we feel it is most important for our students to learn. Survival swim lessons are most likely top of mind for a parent with young children.

What separates our amazing swim lesson program from other swim schools is that we are very flexible when it comes to scheduling, custom lesson planning, and 1 on 1 close communication with your swim instructor and InstaSwim staff.

We cater the lesson plan around what the student needs to work on specifically without all the fluff. Our goal is to ensure water safety and cut the learning process in half.

Benefits Of Private Swimming Lessons In Bronx

Focus on Water Safety

Where do most young children drown in Bronx? Sadly, the answer is ‘in their own swimming pool’. For this reason, our lessons prioritize the ‘Sunsational Safety Sequence’: turning around and reaching the side of the pool after an accidental fall into the water. We make that sequence the heart of our Learn-to-Swim Guarantee for students ages 3 and older.

Convenient Scheduling

Trying to fit kids into group lessons can often feel like fitting a square peg into a round hole! With Sunsational, you set the day of the week and the time that is the best fit for you. Weekdays before lunch? Weekend afternoons? Multiple children in back-to-back lessons three days a week? Absolutely!

Customized Lesson Plans

Most swim lessons take a one-size-fits-all approach to instruction, but Sunsational lessons are personalized for each swimmer. Our teachers recognize and honor individual needs, differences, and strengths, and their one-on-one lessons are tailored to help your child progress in the way that is most effective for them.

Home or Community Pool: Your Choice!

You select the pool that fits your active lifestyle, whether that’s down the street or at your home. You’ll soon see how much money and time you save when you have a Sunsational Swim instructor that comes to YOU!
