Saks Off Fifth Is Coming To Sunset Park

Saks is on the move: Along with the Off Fifth outlet coming to One Liberty Plaza in 2017 and a full-blown Saks Fifth Avenue set for Brookfield Place next spring, the department store has “signed a letter of intent” to bring an outlet to Sunset Park, Commercial Observer reports.
It’d be located inside 30,000 square feet of the ground floor of the eight-story Liberty View Industrial Plaza, the same complex that Bed Bath & Beyond signed on for last year. “This site is a no-brainer for any well-researched retailer,” Chase Welles of SCG Retail, which is marketing space at the adjacent Industry City, told the publication. “The high density, the solid incomes, the impressive education levels added to some of the highest traffic counts in the country equal a no-brainer.”
It’s not quite a done deal, howevermultiple other national chains are reportedly also interested in the same space. Imagine: Picking up new shower curtains and scoring discounted designer merchandise in the same shopping tripwithout having to go to Manhattan. We can dream.
Saks Off 5th’s Sunset Park Location To Open Thursday
SUNSET PARK Saks Off 5th will open its first Brooklyn shop in Sunset Park this week, the store announced Monday.
The designer fashion outlet’s new store will open Thursday, Oct. 13, at Liberty View Industrial Plaza, located at 850 Third Ave. in Brooklyn. The shop will open at 10 a.m. with hundreds of brands and discounts at up to 70 percent off.
Saks Off 5th’s 31,000-square-foot location will appeal to “fashion-conscious Brooklyn shoppers” looking for “the ‘thrill-of-the-hunt’ experience,” company president Jonathan Greller said in a statement.

From Oct. 13 to 16, some among the first 50 shoppers each day could receive a “golden ticket” that can be exchanged for a $100 Saks Off 5th gift card.
Saks Off 5th will be open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday to Saturday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.

Saks OFF 5TH has finally arrived in Sunset!
Liberty View Industrial Plaza celebrated the grand opening of the long awaited Saks OFF 5TH, Saks Fifth Avenues sister discount store, on Thursday, October 13.
A sizable line formed outside the boroughs first Saks OFF 5TH store, 850 Third Avenue, minutes before the doors opened at 10 a.m. The celebratory atmosphere included a deejay, a ribbon cutting ceremony and giveaways.
Were excited to bring the thrill-of-the-hunt experience Saks OFF 5TH is known for to fashion-conscious Brooklyn shoppers, said Jonathan Greller, president of Saks OFF 5TH and Gilt in a statement. We are continuing to grow our presence in high-density areas, and provide customers with a great mix of emerging designer labels and well-known luxury brands.
The Sunset location is approximately 31,000 square foot and promises shoppers a compelling lineup of more than 800 designer brands at affordable designer prices for men, women and children, with some up to 70% off.
The space evokes a relaxed shopping experience, with open aisles, an industrial feel and neon signage.
Attendees, who received free chocolate bars, some of which contained a golden ticket that translated into $100 gift cards, were happy with the stores new digs.
Salmar Properties purchased the massive space in 2011 from the New York Economic Development Corporation.
